Next Day

Liz pulls her hair into a ponytail and leaves the break room, almost crashing into Lucas. The sight of the blue eyed doctor brings back the memories of his father, pleasant memories. She swallows and keeps walking, practically ignoring him. "Liz, Liz wait up. Hey, what's going on?"
"I'm really busy, sorry I can't talk." She says, keeping on her path. She heads to the maturity ward, stopping, and turning back. "I can't do this. I can't do this." She whispers, looking up just as she crashes into Kim.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry Liz, I didn't see you there." Kim apologizes, helping Liz off the ground.
"It's fine, I wasn't paying attention. I was actually looking for you." Liz tells her, holding her arm awkwardly. Telling Kim seemed to be getting harder and actually seeing the woman didn't help her guilt. She had no reason to feel guilty, Julian and Kim hadn't been in a relationship back then.
"What do you need me for? I didn't hear my pager go off. What's going on?" Kim asks. "It's not work related so if you're busy, it can wait."
"No, I was actually about to to eat my lunch. What'd you wanna talk about?" She asks, starting to walk towards her office. "I wanted to talk to you about Julian. I know you two are dating and I wanted to ask how that's going."
"Oh, he's amazing. I adore him. He's so sweet and he's great with Oscar. I never thought I'd fall in love so fast but I have. He's everything I could've hoped for and more. Our relationship is what dreams are made of." Kim beams.
"Sounds like you really love him." Liz says. "Oh, I do. I haven't actually said it yet but I've wanted to. A million times I've wanted go pin him to the couch and tell him that I love him, but I haven't found the courage. I love him, I love him."
"Kim, I need you to tell him something from me." Liz tells her. "What is it?"
"I'm pregnant, and it's his baby." Liz says, holding her stomach and closing her eyes.
Kim let's out a sigh. "Dumb ass doesn't know how to use a condom. Your the fifth woman to tell him that in the last few weeks. I'll make sure he knows so you two can work something out." She says, an almost sick look on her face. "I have to go."
Liz tries to stop her but when Kim pulls away, she gets the message and let's her to.

Kim locks her office door and grabs her purse, testing things out until she finds the pregnancy test, still packaged nice and tight. She rips the box open, dropping one of the tests. She goes into the bathroom, locking that door too.
She sits on the edge of the toilet seat, turning the test over in her hands. Tears roll down her face. She catches a glimpse of herself in the mirror and wipes off her cheeks, taking a slow breath. "I can do this, this is the easy part."

Later

Julian opens the apartment door and walks in, a look of exhaustion on his face. "Honey, I'm home."
Kim smiles from the couch and goes to greet him, placing a kiss on his lips. "Hi baby, how was work?"
"Fine, busy. We must've made a fortune today it was people constantly in and out. I don't know why people are drinking on a Thursday in April, but whatever, it's good for business. How was your day?" He asks, tilting his head slightly.
"Uneventful, for the most part. Expect just before I ate lunch, Liz Webber had something to tell me. She's expecting. Congrats, Daddy, you've got a fifth one on the way." She says, pulling on his shirt collar.
"I figured as much. I'll go talk to her now. I'll be back for dinner, don't worry, I got the clean up tonight. Thanks for telling me, baby." He says, kissing her again and heading straight off.
The door closes and Kim goes back to the couch, curling up around a pillow. Oscar's door opens and joins his mom on the couch. "How much of that did you hear?" She asks.
"There's a fifth baby now and it's with Liz Webber. Am I missing anything?" He asks. "Nope, you got it. He's going to talk to her now and hopefully work something out for the time being. I feel like things are just getting started."
"They are. There's a lot going on right now, for everyone. Dad's divorcing Sam and he's suing for custody of Scout. Julian has five different pregnant baby mamas and you agreed to be their collective step-mom. We live in an apartment and Julian lives in an office, what are you two gonna do?"
"Actually, I've been helping him look for houses. He asked me to move in to whatever house we find, and of course that means you too. Oscar, it's your choice, do you want to move in with Julian?" She says.
Oscar looks over to the fresh vase of flowers, Julian was always brining Kim flowers. Even more than that, Julian brought Kim smiles. That's all Oscar could ever ask for. He nods. "I want us to move in with Julian, when he finds a house. I'm not sleeping on an office floor."
"Obviously, silly." She wraps her arms around his neck and kisses his head.

Julian knocks on Liz's door, leaning on the frame. Her oldest, Cameron, opens the door, confused to see Julian. As far as he knew, Julian had no reason to be there. "Mr. Jerome?"
"Hi there, Cameron. Is your mom around?" He asks. Cameron nods. "Mom! Julian Jerome is here!" He calls, stepping to the side so Julian can come in.
Liz comes out from the kitchen and takes off the apron she's wearing, laying it on the couch arm. "Julian, I'm glad you came. We have a lot to talk about and I honestly can't do this alone, not again."
"And you won't have to." Julian assures her. Liz smiles, motioning for Cameron to close the door. "Boys, go upstairs, dinner won't be for a while and I need to Mr. Jerome."
Cameron grabs his phone off the living room coffee table and heads upstairs. Jake and Aiden shut their game down. Aiden goes upstairs without incidence, but Jake makes sure to make cold eye contact with Julian as he leaves.
Julian turns back to Liz. "So, baby?"

Kim runs her fingers over her stomach, watching the lit wick of the candle flicker, its orange flame dancing with her breath. The apartment door opens, letting in a breeze that shakes the flame. Julian sits next to Kim, getting her attention off the candle.
"Sorry I missed dinner, don't worry, Liz fed me. Everything's all good with her. She's perfectly happy to share custody as long as I can find a safe house and I help out with prenatal care." He tells her.
"That's good." Kim says, only half listening. "K, what's wrong?" He asks, cupping her cheek. Her lip quivers, tears starting up in her eyes and falling down her cheeks.
"I'm so afraid I'm not good enough for you. You're drop dead sexy and you have five beautiful young woman carrying your babies who would throw themselves at you if you let them. What if you decide that I don't satisfy you any more?"
"That's never gonna happen because you are more than I could ever need or hope for. You're not just enough you're everything to me. Kim, I need you. I need you in my life, you complete me and I want to raise these babies with you. You and you alone, and Oscar too of course. And their siblings. You know what I mean, you're the only woman for me. I've been pretty focused on kids' moms for the last week or so, but I'm gonna show you every day just how much you mean to me. I promise, from now on there will never be one moment where I'll ever let you believe that you aren't my moon, stars, sky, sun, ocean, shore, and all that poetic crap mixed into one. Kim Nero, I love you and I will spend the rest of our lives showing you just how far that love goes."
She kisses him, stopping him from seeing her crying anymore. She didn't want to talk anymore tonight. She needed to not think about today anymore. But Julian's words echo in her head and try as she might, she couldn't echo the words back to him, however true they were.

The next part will be big, and I mean BIG. Truth will be revealed, hearts will be broken, and someone may have a change of heart.
Also, I know Kim didn't tell Julian what she may or may not have found out today. He'll find out soon enough.
