It's been a year to this day we have been divorced. Christmas Eve... Worst Holiday in the history of holidays, for me anyways... My kids happened to love Christmas
I hate Christmas, I was divorced by my love of my life Justin. He said we were through right in front of our 5 that's not 6 year old and our 2 that's now 3 years old. He picked his career over his family.
He was my first love, and my first heartbreak and also my last. I missed him. And I know he misses me because of his interviews. I sigh thinking I'll never love someone like I loved him.
I here a giggle below me. There was Lanie.
"Mommy, are da cwupcwakes dwone yet?" she asked me.
"Just 30 more minutes" I smiled at her and picked her up.
Instead of cookies for Christmas, Justin came up with the idea of cupcakes to be original and Me, Lanie, and Jason have been doing it ever since.
"Mom, Can we check on the cupcakes?!" Jason asked.
"Of course" I said with a smile.
Lanie jumped down from my lap and took her brothers hand and they ran Into the kitchen and put there face up to the oven glass. I quickly got my phone out and snapped a pic.
Me, Jason, and Lanie went into the living and starting plugging in our Christmas lights. I looked at our tree which had no star be a use Jason refused to let me put it up there since it was Justins Job and not mine.
The kids began playing. Jason was playing on his iPod Justin got him and Lanie was playing with her brat dolls and the house that a just in built for her.
My phone began to play "All of Me" by John Legend. but I ignored it.
"Are you gonna get that mommy? Jason asked.
"Uh, Yea" I said.
I answered.
You- Hello?
Justin- Hey Y/N.
Y- Hi.
J- How are you doing?
Y- Well I got divorced last year on this very day, with my ex husband choosing his career over his family. I don't know, You tell me how I'm doing.
J- I'm sorry.
Y- Yea I know you say that every time you talk to me. Why did you call?
J- Can I come see you guys for Christmas.
Y- I-
I look over at Jason who us looking at me with sad eyes and at Lanie who is also staring at me.
Y- Uh, Sure.
J- Really?
I could just see his face light up.
Y- Yes really
I smile.
J- I'll See you soon then! I love you!
Y- Um.
J- I didn't mean to say that.
Y- see you in 10.
J- Bye.
I hang up the phone..
"GUESS WHO'S COMING OVER" I yell with a smile.
