Sheik's Pov

Why...Why didn't I...Why couldn't I tell them...who am I...I couldn't tell Impa and the others but I couldn't let them find out either as well...but...who am I really...I'm no Sheikah warrior or Hylian...What am-

...:SHEIK, WAKE UP.

I jumped when I heard someone familiar calling my name. I realised that I was on a long tree branch and it seemed like I was sleeping before I was called. I looked below me only to find Midna and Lana looking into my gaze. I didn't know what to do so I jumped off the tree holding my goddess harp close by. People sometimes ask me if I'm a boy or a girl, I always say it is not important and yet, I wonder the same question as well.

When I was in front of them, I realised how small Lana is compared to me. It made me smile a bit under my mask. She looked kind of pissed off about something and so did Midna. I decided to ask a question.

Sheik: What's wrong?

Lana: Don't tell me that you are as lazy as Link over there.

She pointed behind her a man in a green tunic relaxing on the cliffside of Mount Hylia with a swift siffla sticking from his mouth. His eyes didn't look as calm as his body was. I knew that finding the princess of Hyrule was really important yet Link was determined to find her. I felt sad for him without showing it to Lana and Midna.

Midna: Anyway, Impa is asking to see you.

Sheik: Why is that my friend?

Lana:We don't know why but she said that your needed now.

Sheik: Alright and thank you for telling me.

As I left for our camp I took a small glimpse of Link and the master sword as well. I walked past a group of Hylian soldiers that looked kind of disappointed and I knew why. When entered in the war room I only saw Impa in a worried yet sad face when she saw me.

Sheik: What may I do for you?

Impa:...

She took a deep breath before answering my question.

Impa: Sheik...why do you stay. Our affairs have nothing to do with you.

I was shocked by her question yet I stayed calm.

Sheik: To be honest I don't know either. I have nothing to do with you but when we first met I wanted to let you be, yet something pulled me to help you in the Eldin caves and on. Even now I do not know why.

Impa: So you're staying with us?

She made it a hard decision which I knew that it would take time to decide so I let it be.

Sheik: I was thinking of leaving soon but I'll stay for now.

Impa: If that's your decision I'll accept it. You're dismissed.

I bowed to her and left the tent. I thought about what she said but I knew that I had a mission to complete. Knowing that it might take my life, I had to do it for her sake.

As usual I stayed outside of the camp and search a perfect place and atmosphere to play my harp. I made to the top of Mount Hylia and started playing it. As I played I didn't know that it drew the attention of few animals near by. Knowing that it was normal I continued playing on and smiled once more under my mask.

At first I thought that the sweet music of my harp just drew animals to me but it seemed that two green figures were following the smooth sound of the goddess harp. As I stopped playing I took a deep breath to calm myself and as I turned around, that's when I realized those two figures.

Linkle: Woah, that was beautiful Sheik where did you learn to play like that.

Sheik: I... don't know how Linkle. And hello Link.

He nodded which meant "hello". Link was the silent type so it was hard to communicate with him but he sometimes speak when needed to. We get along very well but I know that he still has some doughts about me but he never spoke about them and I did care less. Linkle was still very young and I meant even younger than Lana that's only 19 years old. She's basically the opposite of Link which means that she talks more than him and is less lazy.

Linkle: What do you mean by you don't know how. I never saw someone play so magnificently before. I even heard from Impa that the princess used to play like that.

Sheik:...Not surprised at all. All princesses named Zelda learned to play the harp. But in my case I don't know.

The sun was setting quickly which meant that it was time for bed.
Link held Linkle's shoulder to signal her the time and as always she understood him better. She left waving at me which I waved back leaving me and Link on the mountain top.

Sheik: Aren't you going to get ready for bed?

Link: I was wondering the same thing.

Sheik: Hmm

I did a small smile and turned back on the horizon and saw the view of Hyrule. In the distance there was Kakariko village of the Sheikah.

Link: Your looking at your old home?

Sheik:...Home huh?

He stared at me in confusion.

Link: What do you mean by-

I quickly realized what I said and changed the subject calmly.

Sheik: Nothing...you better go rest up, we are heading towards the Gerudo desert tomorrow and the Gerudo's won't be pleased to see you.

He nodded and left with a worried yet curious reaction. I stayed there till the sun was fully set to get back to the camp to rest.

That night

Sheik: What...Where am I?

...: You thought that hiding your secret would protect her against us haven't you.

Sheik: Who are you?

...: You'll find out soon enough, but for now I think you better wake up.

Sheik:...
