xxii. I am sorry

little did I know how much you were hurting when I first met you
for you smiled so beautiful that it might have been the stars shining

still I was so afraid of you, but I have forgotten why, as you are such a tender soul
when you look so dark

I didn't know of the demons swaying in your mind,
how they rip you apart at night,
neither of the ways you split your skin open
to see blood tripping all over your feet

and so I want to apologise for judging you
without even knowing
I am so sorry for being so blind
