Castiel stood side by side with Elizabeth on the balcony overlooking the stargate, below them the team was geared up, and ready to move out. John, Rodney, and Ronon also joined by Lorne and a few others. All of them looking ahead as the gate began to glow as it was dialed. Elizabeth was worried, as she watched the gate roar to life. "Good luck Colonel." She called as John looked up at the pair. "Thanks, we will be back soon with what we find." He said before turning and walking into the horizon, with everyone else following close behind. Castiel watched them as they stepped across, and the gate sizzled into nothing. The saddles were still on his body, as he looked at the tablet, and quickly wrote. "If they do not return on time, will you allow me to go?" Elizabeth looked at the tablet, before looking up to his electric blue eyes. The more she talked to him, the more human he felt. It was a strange feeling, as different as he looked he had similar thoughts and ideas as she did. "You will be the first to go through." The dragon nodding his head, before he leaned down. Laying down much like a cat with his head resting on the floor, starting his watch over the gate. She stood next to him for a moment, before turning and walking into her office. The loyalty he had was inspiring, something she hoped that she could hold to the people under her command. Right now, she just hoped this incident did not cause them to want to leave.

The familiar humid air hit hard as they walked out of the gate. As far as John could tell, the planet seemed unchanged in the dimming sunlight. At least at the gate. "Alright, it's about a 20-minute walk to the village. Be on the lookout for anything that seems out of place." He called out as they began to walk up the stone path. Beside him, Ronon looked at the tropical landscape. "I do not get the same vibe as last time we were here." "I know, something is off, I just don't know what yet." John agreeing as he adjusted his sunglasses. "Your quiet McKay, I take it nothing?" The scientist glancing up at them before putting the scanner back into his vest, "Nope, just like last time. The atmosphere is a bit too ionized to let anything work." John did not respond, as they began to move from the tropical meadows and towards the farmland.

"Where is everyone?" Lorne asking as they looked at the farmland around them. "Normally there are people all around the fields." John had to agree; the place seemed deserted, the locals were normally very friendly and eager to greet you. "Well, looks like they may have turned in for the evening" John stating as the sun started to set in the distance. "We need to hurry; I would rather get any rescue missions done with some daylight left." He said as he picked up the pace of his walk, able to sense Rodney rolling his eyes behind him at the now picked up speed. The feeling was strange like a flag was flying in the back of his head telling him something was without a doubt wrong with the area. Yet, even if it were just them heading in for the night, word of travelers through the gate would have spread quickly, and the one guy that acts as their leader would have shown up. John could never remember the guy's name.

The village was well, quiet. As they walked onto the main street, they were able to see the windows of the buildings and houses blocked up with wood. "I don't like this." Ronon having already drawn his weapon, the tension in the air heavy as they all moved into the city. Everything had been left how It was like the entire village had dropped what they were doing and ran inside to barricade themselves in. "Like they are prepping for a culling," Ronon said as he tested one of the nearby doors. The handle turning but the door very much sealed off. "These people are hiding from something or someone." Lorne sating as he looked at a table, a half-eaten meal still sitting on it. The feeling was getting more and more strange as they walked into the town square. Whatever had happened, or whoever had shown up had caused an almost instant drop everything and hide response from these people. He paused, as everyone seemed to gather around him, looking at the locked down buildings. He had to figure out something, at least an idea. "Everybody!" he yelled loudly, causing Ronon to give him a look. "You all know why we are here; we are looking for Tayla and Dr. Beckett! They came here earlier, and we have not heard from them since. Do any of you know where they are at?" He was met with silence, then everyone wondering if the villagers were even in the houses and buildings of the town.
