Carson was exhausted as he walked up the stairs to the control room. It had been a long few hours working to get all the wounds on Forrest either stitched or wrapped up. Along with trying to make sure Castiel's wind blisters were treated, and a few large wooden splinters pulled from his mouth and paws. It had been slightly unnerving, removing things from the dragon's giant mouth. But he managed to do it without any issues. He yawned, as he walked past the terminals and the people in charge of them, heading for Elizabeth's office. He could see the others were all waiting. John and his team, with Lorne happily sitting in.
He was greeted warmly as he walked in, happy to stand just beside the door. "How is she?" Elizabeth asking right off what they all wanted to know. "All patched up, along with a tetanus shot. She will be perfectly fine." He explained, everyone listening closely. "and Castiel?" "Only a few large wood splinters in his mouth and paws. Then the wind blisters on the front of his wings. Easy to get him taken care of. He has gone ahead and carried Forrest back to their quarters, saying he would keep an eye on her and come get me if anything changed." John smiled, as he looked at the doctor. "That's good to hear. How about you?" Carson looked at the Colonel, shaking his head, "I am perfectly fine, no stitches needed." He said having cleaned off the cut above his eye. "No, I am talking about your knuckles." Even Ronon offering a slight laugh, "You dropped Shikon to his knees Doc." "Do no harm but take no shit." Lorne laughing in his comment as the room joined in the joke. "Now that was a good one." John smiling as he made a note of the well-formed comment. Carson now looking down slightly at his feet, before Tayla spoke. "You all did not have to listen to what Shikon was doing to her; if I had been first in the room, my reaction would have been the same." She managed to save him slightly, as the others stopped their laughter. Rodney rolling his eyes lightly, "Well, I feel like your hits were pretty tame compared to when Castiel got a hold of him." There was a collective silence before John spoke. "Yeah, I will admit that was pretty extreme."
Carson looked at John, taking a deep breath before speaking. "I now understand why you would want them in the field Colonel, what Castiel was able to do was impressive." He knew when to admit when his mind had been changed, but John shook his head to the words. "I understand why you felt them more useful in the infirmary. Castiel only did all of that because of what was happening to Forrest. If that is what it takes to get him ready to fight, then it is not worth it." John had an understanding of what had been happening to Forrest, and what would have happened if they had been even a few minutes too late. Needless to say, Elizabeth was just happy that the pair had been willing to come to an understanding without her input. "Well, now that you both are done arguing your case. It falls to their choice. But, Carson, how is she, well, mental wise?" He knew what she meant, they all knew. Tayla had explained to them all what they believed to be Shikon's end goal with Forrest had they not gotten there in time. He shook his head, "She had passed out by the time we got to the infirmary. Sedated the rest, so I can not say. Castiel said nothing though. I would say that seeing if she will talk with Dr. Heightmeyer, later on, would not be a bad thing." She nodded her head, as she looked down at the table. "That was not how we wanted her first time off world to go." "No kidding." John looking over at the doctor, "Sorry I had to insist on it."
There was the ever-growing familiar sound of claws on stone, as Castiel walked calmly into the office. Everyone pausing to look at the dragon who sat down next to Carson. His tail wrapping around his feet as he looked at them all. "She okay?" Carson quick to wonder why the dragon had left Forrest alone. 'she is resting happily. Everything normal. I can easily feel if something were to change.' The dragon writing his message down for the room to read. "Castiel we all owe you a thank you, for finding everyone today." Elizabeth looking to the dragon from where she sat at her desk, 'I do hope I do not have to repeat it.' "You should not have to, both of you do not have to go off again if you don't want to." John quick to explain some of what had been said. Lorne was the one to speak next, "Hope there were no hard feelings between us when I had to get the vest from you earlier?" It had been a stressful situation, and he hoped he had not offended him having now watched what he could do. 'Do not worry Evan; you did what was required.' There was a slight laugh from the room. As everyone stood happily together. "Speaking of hard feelings." John turning to look at Ronon, who had been leaning against the wall to the right of him. "I believe Ronon said he had something to say." He could feel the death glare, as Ronon looked at him and then to Castiel. Moving off the wall, he walked over to the dragon. Their heads level as Castiel's ears perked forwards curiously as the room held it's breath. "So, I want to say sorry for how I talked about Forrest. It was her in the most danger today, not something you both had planned." It was a simple apology before John cleared his throat behind them. "and I hope you both can forgive me." There was a slight smirk from a few people, as Ronon waited while Castiel wrote out his response. 'we both can forgive you for that. We both understand you wanted to keep your friends safe. Dazar was right about you.' Ronon said nothing but dipped his head before turning and walking back to where he had been leaning. "Good job." John quickly tensing as he waited for the punch that would follow the comment. He had managed to convince the former runner that an apology was due, and while it was like pulling teeth, he had agreed.
