He sat on the train looking out the window. His eyes lingered on the passing trees and the slow vibration of the tracks. Meanwhile she wrapped the blanket even tighter around herself not even three compartments over.
Maybe it was a mistake to wear this, she thought. She glanced down at the protrusion of cleavage reshaping her dark green shirt. The boys couldn't stop ogling over it. Well, she huffed taking a glance at her charcoal grey nails and glancing around the compartment.
Ginny sat next to her wrapped in a quilt whilst Ron and Harry had sat opposite. Harry and Ginny were broken up, Ginny had loved Harry's homeboy charm but as the summer went on realized she didn't anymore. They had a painless, hex-free breakup. Much different than Ron and hers. You see Ron loved her, he cared. But as she decided what she wanted to wear, he was opposed. He said she just wasn't a girl to bring home to mom. Frustrating.
She knew what would happen that day as did the entire train. Today all seventh years would take a test determining their sole mates. The ministry has made the decision and as members of the wizarding population it was in their best interest to just abide. They were to be married and pregnant just short of nine months. Everyone had already tried fighting but eventually realized it was no use.
Soon the train came to a complete stop and ministry officials escorted the seventh years to desks in a small classroom. One must answer truthfully to all questions as the quill was enchanted to do so. So each taking their seats everyone's head slumped over their piece of parchment.
Question 1:
What do you want more than anything in a relationship?A) a constant friend
B) a competitor
C) a fierce sexual partner
D) a protectorShe sat and thought for a second, she wanted all of those but one stuck out. A competitor. Sure it would be nice to have an amazing sex life but she knew that would get old. A constant friend would be clingy and annoying. And she didn't want a protector. But a competitor. Someone to debate and converse with. That sounded okay.
Question 2:
The most repulsive quality in a man?A) overly confident
B) self conscious
C) stoic
D) work focusedOne hundred percent b. She couldn't picture herself having to lift up a man in a relationship. It sounded exhausting. That being said she had been there done that with Ron. "Do I look okay Mione?" Or her favorite, "does my hair look okay Mione?" . It was ridiculous, she might as well been dating lavender. She was work focused, semi-stoic, and often found confidence attractive.
Final question:
What do you want for the future?A) Married with kids, stay at home mom.
B)Married no kids, adoption for infertility
C) Open relationship
D) Married with children, working. The question shocked Hermione but she chose d quicker then she had expected. Knowing she was fertile from her mild pregnancy scare over the summer.
She got up and handed her paper to a ministry official add she took her place at a table in the great hall.
Back in the classroom,
Question 1:
What do you want more than anything in a relationship?A) a constant friend
B) a competitor
C) a fierce sexual partner
D) someone to protectNot having to think twice he chose the answer most would not expect from "Slytherin Sex God" Draco Malfoy. A competitor. Nothing was more attractive to him than a beautiful girl who knew what she wanted. Determination for things apart from makeup, shopping, or gentleman suitors. He already had the best friend he could ask for. Blaise Zabini. He knew a competitor would want a fierce sex life. And although he knew he would protect her, something told him he wouldn't have to.
Question 2:
The most repulsive quality in a woman?
A) a work focused visionary
B) a shopoholic airhead
C) a sappy romantic
D) a stoic independentHe had to laugh a little at this question. Every part of that besides the shopoholic airhead was not only him but what he wanted. Never would he marry a woman who had only the last season of Lydia Cardiff bags in her head.
Final Question:
What do you want for your future?
A) Married with kids and a steady at home wife
B) Married no kids, adoption for infertility
C) Open relationship
D) Married with children, workingWell he knew he wanted children. His"equipment" worked, but it's his wife was infertile he would always love her the same. He chose D and passed in the exam, entering the great hall. He plopped down next to Blaise and Pansy who was immersed in yet another Lydia Cardiff catalog. He had to laugh at the irony of the fact he always thought he would marry the girl who did exactly what he didn't like.
Meanwhile, Hermione sat by Harry and Ginny who were deep in a conversation about auror training. They were both planning on going next fall, but none of us knew what this law would do to the future. Hermione looked around the great hall, Luna was reading an upsidown book, Dean and Seamus seemed to be savoring the last few moments together as they knew they couldn't procreate together, and something caught her eye.
Draco, Blaise, and Pansy all looked over and smiled at her. Not a sneer but a genuine real smile. She would not forgive them yet but she knew they must all work together to survive right now. Then Kingsley Shacklbolt came up to the podium.
