The next morning I was waiting with the others gathering the metal to take to the armor wing when I saw Astrid walk up looking sad. "Hey Astrid!" I called walking up to her. That's when I noticed the necklace. "Oh that's beautiful! Did hiccup give you that?" I asked. "Yea. It was my betrothal present. But he didn't even notice I was wearing it." She said angrily. "Hey I'm sure he didn't mean to. From what I can tell he cares deeply for you. But he can be a bit like Snotlout and focus on one thing at a time. I'm sure after dropping off the extra metal he will definitely notice it." I said with a soft smile. "Besides at least you have a betrothal gift." I said to myself "what?" She asked confused. "Nothing it's fine." I said with a smile. "You ready to go?" Snotlout came up and asked us. "Sorry I'm not going. Mala said she would show me a few healing tricks for dragons. But I think Astrid is." I said. Astrid nodded and walked over to the others. "Hey Eira. Listen I know you don't have any form of protection right now so here. I had my father send them to me. They used to be my mothers. And well I hope that until I can find a better betrothal gift that they will symbolize that for now." He said unwrapping two daggers. One had the symbol for family and the other had the Jorgensen clan symbol on the other. "Thank you." I said kissing him quickly before he ran off towards the others.

"Mala I'm... ready for training?" I asked before noticing that the twins were accosting her with wedding details. "Ah Eira finally someone other than these two. Come now over here." She said gesturing to a table where she had our many books and scrolls. "This is what I was able to get on short notice. Most of what we have is for boulder class dragons but I'm sure most techniques will cross to other classes." Mala said pointing to a stack that featured dragons much like meatlug. I started there first since mala knew the most about those. Of course I mainly studied the works of her advisor but that wasn't too bad. It was all so detailed explaining how to care for sick dragons. Meanwhile mala was teasing the twins by making them think that the marriage would end up with dagger dead.
