Kirsten (POV)

The streets of Las Vegas are barren and seem to be empty. The lights still shining bright in the blank desert, buildings half torn apart. Cars left abandoned on the side of the road.

We slowly make our way down the streets, money drifts in the air from the breeze blowing past.

My hands find their way to my neck, I feel my locket. Its cold metal against my skill put me on edge remember what it had meant to me.
Trevin, my boyfriend, he had given it to me on our anniversary. 2 weeks before our world went to hell.
I yank it off with one swift motion, I hold it in my hands and open it. The inside is engraved, it says

"All the money in the world can't but my love for you."
-T

I hold it up to my chest as I look out the window, I feel a tear fall and as it hits my skin I remember... I remember that night.

2 weeks before the Apocalypse:

I pace back and forth in front of the door, my hair and makeup make me feel like an over pampered doll. I look into the mirror at my olive skin.
I decide to leave my hair down for tonight.
Its our anniversary and Trevin is taking me somewhere but he has refused to tell me, his idea of a "surprise" isn't so much a surprise since Quinton already told me where were going.
Does he have to spoil everything?

I continue to pace back and forth until I hear the door bell, I turn my head sharply and squeal in delight.
I slip on a leather jacket and my converse, Trevin is taking me to the pier at Dana Point, I open the door and throw my arms around him. He reacts to my gesture by saying,

"Handsy, now are we Krissy?"

He gives me a smirk as he hands me a helmet I take the helmet and say,

"I haven't seen you for a month, and your 2 states over in Texas. Im not sure "Handsy" would be the word to describe."

Trevin goes to
Southern state College, in Tennessee.
I go to UCLA in California.

We head out to his cycle and I jump on to the front seat, he gives me a worried look as he says,

"Your driving? Kirsten you don't even know where were going?"

I give him a small smile and reply,

"Guide me."

He gives a sigh and says,

"Alright."

He put on his helmet and I start the engine, the cycle roars to life setting my heart ablaze.

We ride off and enter onto the freeway, Ive never felt so happy.

*back to reality*

My eyes flutter as I reminisce over that night, my flashbacks of Trevin happen more recently now. His memory burns in my mind. Where is he? And is he ok?

We ride over into an empty parking lot and decided to rest for a bit, the Hotels could have people in them hiding out so the parking lot is a safe bet.

The car stops and I open the door and say,

"Guys, I'm gonna walk around for a bit. My legs feel like jelly."

Angela gives me a nod and says.

"Don't go far."

I give her one last look before I head out.

I walk around the once live and busy streets, everything seems so bleak like a ghost town from hell.

I walk for a bit not minding where I'm going until I come across a motorcycle lying on the sidewalk.
