Night now falls, the sky still gloomy with acid rain clouds that we now know to be harmless. Instead of grey clouds the sky is plagued with clouds colored brightly, blue and purple are the colors that stand out most, with a roll of thunder and lightning every now and then. I shudder at the weather as I stand in my room readying myself for what's to come.
I lace my boots extra tight, add 1 more layer under my leather jacket, and tie a black cloth around my mouth and nose. I look at myself in the mirror pulling up the hood to my extra layer under my leather skin before heading out of the room.
Pulling my face mask down I briskly walk down the stairs to meet everyone. We have already split into our separate teams and now we a readying ourselves for the fight to come. The rain still falls heavily, it pelts down on us as we move out.
Michael, Krissy, Grace and Derek take two trucks as they head for the bridge. Riley, Tyler, Kirsten, Lani and I head for Scorpion's HQ we can't bring weapons so we go in unarmed, but I keep a rather large knife hidden in a layer of my clothing strapped to my back.
"We are going to sneak in through the northern sewers, it's not gonna be pretty but it's ideal." Riley explains as we turn around corners and alley's making our way back to the vile building. "Ok, here." he directs leading us down a small hill into a mucky pond of sewer water. "In, Now!" he orders keeping his voice at a whisper.
We crowd into the opening of the sewer as Riley switches on a flashlight. "Stay close, and keep it down. We don't wanna be getting caught now." he instructs. We nod and begin our journey through the sewers and to the building. The air is thick with humidity and my skin grows sticky and warm with every passing moment. I hardly notice Tyler walking up behind me as I follow after Riley.
"Hey," Tyler tugs at my jacket.
"What." snap back tilting my head in his direction
"When we're in there, I don't want you leaving my side." he orders, his hand landing o the small of my back.
"Don't baby me. I can handle myself." gloat giving him a smirk.
"I'm serious, anything goes wrong in there don't decide you need to break off and wander away.", he almost pleads surpassing me as we walk. I stare intently at the back of his head as I try to follow his request.
After about 20 or so minuets of walking loud cheers and roars are heard through echo's as we all come to the realization of how close we are. After more walking the cheers and laughter are loudest above us.
"We're here." Riley informs as he tosses the flashlight to the side. The light falls with a clank, its light landing on a ladder strait ahead of us.
"What now?" Kirsten ponders aloud taking a step closer to the grimy ladder.
With a heavy sigh Riley replies grabbing hold of the first bar. "Now? Up."
Riley begins his decent up, climbing and climbing. The ladder leads to a small man hole in the ceiling. Kirsten lets out a chuckle before following and Lani curses and the look and grime of the metal climbing bar.
"I'll go last." Tyler informs staring up at where everyone is climbing.
"You sure?" I quiz looking around the dirty sewer.
