NOOOOOO!

I watched my love fly away.

He tore my heart into little pieces. A paper shredder couldn't have gotten smaller pieces. Then, when I was about to glue those parts together, he steals half of them and flies away on huge black dragon wings.  I cried, stuck up seventy feet.

"MITCH!" I screamed, hoping the fading figure would return. But he didn't. Soon, the druid-dragon was gone from view and mind. I climbed down carefully to see the police swarm me.

"Young lass! Were you just attacked by that creature?" A camera faced me. I looked away, pushing it aside.

"It's a misunderstanding!" I screamed, shoving through the crowd. After ten minutes, I got out from the horde and sprinted away in tearful terror. I ran to the cave to take back my words. I returned after twenty minutes and almost died.

Mitch was there, all right.

He was pacing the room, not seeing me, muttering.

"No..no..I can't kill them..." Normal voice.

"You must! Tear all of them apart for the pain they caused...." A creepy, possessive voice from his mouth.

"But I hurt them more...." Normal.

"That's not enough!" Creepy. He screamed, holding his head in pain. He still didn't see me as I quietly approached my friend.

"But Kalie..." I froze.

"That weak girl? Forget her! Take the power!"

"I...can't!" He screamed in pain again as the sun lowered. The moon floated silently above as his form grew, snapped, and twisted into the form of the dragon I knew. Somehow, he still didn't notice me.

"KILL THEM ALL!" That voice...so terrifying.

"Kalie....." He saw me. I waved. He snarled. "Kalie, run, it's taking me! Warn the villagers..." He roared, but halfway in it became a scream. He flew, eyes glowing red in confused rage, to the church I knew well. I ran, but I knew I couldn't catch up in time. I heard a scream. Crashing.

"Tie it down, men! The beast has returned!" A deep man voice, probably a priest. Cries sounded around him in agreement. I got there, finally, and added my voice to the chorus in scream form. Mitch was tied completely down, with blades jabbing everywhere. His eyes were wide with fear like mine were when he flew me. His snout bond loosened.

"LEMME GO!" He cried, flailing and uncontrollably shooting fire.

"STOP!" I yelled. The people faced me.

"He attacked us!" A woman clutching a baby yelled.

"He is a human, trapped in a body of this!" I waved my hand at him.

"A cursed one?" The burly priest swore.

"Can you cure him?" I begged. Mitches eyes did too.

"No. Well...maybe." He confessed. He ran to the church and grabbed a book, angry people watching like vultures. He muttered some weird stuff, and Mitch glowed.  "Blood must be spilt! His blood!" He yelled. I knew he meant for the spell, but the angry mom didn't. She jammed a huge pitchfork, tips glowing with a green plant, into my friend's neck. He screamed in pain. Dragonsbane. NOOOOOOO! Mitch laid there, dying. I cut his bonds and ran to him, sobbing. I forgot all of the pain he inflicted on me just an hour ago. Friends fight. But he couldn't just die like this on me! I screamed, tears flowing in waterfall form over his wounds.

"NOOOO! Mitch, please don't leave me!" I cried, hugging his head tightly. He allowed me to snuggle as his eyes went to his normal shade of orange. His eyes rolled up into the back of his head as his heavy head went limp. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" I screamed. The villagers roared in approval of his death as I sobbed.

"Kalie...." It was Mitch's voice, but not from the mouth of the beast.

"Mitch?" I asked, wiping my nose on my sleeve and looking at the floating spirit. It looked like his human form.

"It's me, Kalie. I will always be with you. Always. In the form of this necklace." His spectral hands gave me a beautiful pearl-sapphire necklace with the centre bead shaped like a claw. The dragon's claw hung around my neck as I slid it on. The claw hummed as the spirit entered. I went to the cave, knowing that Mitch would be with me forever. I could take on any and all challenges with his spirit to guide me. I was ready for the press, bullies, anything. Mitch would always be with me in time of great need. And whenever I called upon his power, I would always gain a small aspect of him. I soon became known as the living legend Kalie: for whenever the deformed person got mad, her eyes would become orange, her skin black, and she would defend herself with the rage of the dragon within everybody.
