Amy's POV
The rest of the appointment was pretty much a blur. I didn't know what to think, who the hell would have paid for my medical bills? Because one thing was for sure, no one I knew had that kind of money just laying around. Well, Kate did, but when she heard that the bill was already paid, she looked so surprised. Was she that good of an actress? Or was it someone else?
"Amy." I heard Diana's voice taking me out of my daydream. I looked up at her, she was smiling warmly back at me. I smiled back. I liked her, she was nice and very professional. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Plus she was really easy on the eyes, I mean I was with Kate there was no doubt about that, but it didn't hurt to look right?
"I want to see you in 15 days, to keep up with your recovery. My assistant will call to set up the appointment." She said professionally, I nodded.
Manuel then helped me up, and as soon as I stood I felt Kate's arm around my waist. I smiled warmly looking up at her. I loved how caring she was, even if she didn't show it to other people, she was always caring when it came to me.
She grinned looking back at me and leaned down so she could kiss me, it was just a quick peck but as soon as her lips touched mine I heard Diana clear her throat lowly.
Blood rushed to my cheeks as I began to blush, I tried my best to shift away from Kate, but her arm was holding my waist securely. I looked back at Diana, only to see her shift her weight uncomfortably as she looked at us. I frowned, maybe she wasn't ok with the whole gay thing. I knew a lot of people weren't."Well, I'll see you in 15 then." I said, trying desperately to get away from that uncomfortable situation. Diana forced herself to smile back at me, but I could see that she was feeling awkward.
"Well, that was awkward." I muttered under my breath, low enough only for me to hear.
"What was that babe?" Kate asked, as she pulled me out of Diana's office, I shrugged.
"Ah, nothing sorry. I guess I'm just nervous to find out as why principal Lewis wanted to see me today." I lied. Well, it wasn't a complete lie actually, I was really nervous.
A few days ago, Christian Lewis, my school's principal, called in and scheduled a meeting. I had no idea what he wanted to talk to me about, but I was scared. What if he was going to tell me that there was some kind of mistake, and that I wasn't getting my diploma after all? I had been in a coma for two months, I should had been flunked right away because I missed so many classes.
"Don't be, I'm sure it won't be anything bad. You're the pride and honour of that school." She said, kissing me on the cheek, trying to cheer me up. I mustered a smile back at her, but my insides were squirming.
"I guess we'll find out soon enough, won't we?" I said with a dread, she just pulled me even tighter against her and dragged me through the halls, leading towards the parking lot. We walked in silence for a while, but I couldn't stop sighing or groaning lowly.
"Don't stress Amy, it will be fine." Manuel chimed in, for a second there I almost forgot he was with us. Ugh, what a horrible friend I am. I though as I turned to him.
"Sorry if I'm acting like a bitch, I'm just scared." I said in a small voice and they both laughed.
"Really Amy? That's your version of 'acting like a bitch'?" Kate asked and I blushed.
"Just let us get this over with." I said, motioning to her car, that was now much closer than before.
Finally Manuel gave in and took me in his arms. After some small pleading, of course. Kate didn't seem too happy at the action, but she did her best to muster a smile towards him. I was happy, she was finally coming around. After all, I bet that she could see that Manuel wasn't a threat at all. He was as gay as one could be, and so was I. Her being jealous of him made no sense whatsoever.
