First contact

Taken a looooooong time but! Here's the next chapter of the story, hope you enjoy.
Note: I don't know if I want to continue this to be honest. I left it for a while because I didn't enjoy writing it anymore. But we'll see :)

A2's POV
"So... where are you taking us?" Aileen asks.

"To the parasite." Hallowed object replied

"The flood?" She asks quirking an eyebrow.

"I do believe that is what you call it!"
It-he- whatever replies.
"Yeah you guys gotta work on the nicknames- hey! You ever wonder if there was a guy called Nicholas and someone was like, nah you can be Nick, and that's why they're called nicknames? Like Nick-names?" It continued its incessant rambling.

"Hey A2? What's wrong with him?" Aileen whispers. "It's not contagious is it?"

"No clue, and if it was you'd probably already know." I said continuing forward.

"Hmmm not good enough! Hey monitor!"

"Wassup- apologies I meant, yes?" It replied.

"...right well-"

"What's wrong with you?" She asks, ever tactful, cutting me off.

"Ah yes, you see ever since I crashed here I have been experiencing changes in personality quite sporadically. While my memory of that moment is lost I suspect the culprit is head trauma similar to TBI in humans." It explained.

"So... you hit your head" I summarised.

"Yep" It confirmed before looking off.

"Well he's just intriguing isn't he!" Aileen smiled with her hands on her hips.

"Listen Aileen, I know you find it very endearing..." she raised an eyebrow at me, "...but, if the flood are here, we need to act quickly" I said in a more serious tone.

"And if we're going to do that, we'll need him in working order" She finished. "So what's you're idea?"

Now in hindsight I could have just told her my plan. Two minds are stronger than one and we could have thought it out rationally... but I've always felt that actions speak louder than words and that little prick has been grating on my nerves since I first laid eyes on him. So yes, I unabashedly admit that I took the back of my gun and just hit him. It felt good.

"WOAH! A2 I said working order!" Aileen blinked over to where I was standing over the monitor. "What if you hurt him?!"

"He-it's a machine and-"

"Oh my" it gasped, slowly rising up.

"-it works" I finished. Thank God, that could've gone badly.

"Cognitive recalibration! How clever!" It said before zooming off. "Quickly we must find my installation".

Yangs POV

"Uncle Qroooooow!" Ruby bounced up and down before leaping at Uncle Qrows arm. "I can't believe you're coming with us on our first real mission. THISISGOINGTOBESOGREAT!"

"Don't forget Winter". Weiss folded her arms from across the room where her and her sister were both standing, Winter glaring at Uncle Qrow while he did the same. "She's an Atlas military specialist and with her at our side we're sure to be fine- ow!" Weiss said rubbing her head as Winter gave her a 'light' slap.

"Weiss you should know better than to be proud, pride can quickly turn to hubris" She said.

"Yea! Besides Uncle Qrow totally kicks butt!" Ruby said while crossing her arms cockily.

"That's enough, students if you would follow me outside" Miss Goodwitch said. "Miss Schnee and Qrow will be accompanying you on this mission, I believe you've already been briefed?"

"Yes, we're to stay quiet and keep our distance" Blake repeated.

"And once we have surveyed the situation take the correct measures" Weiss said.

"Which might include kicking their butts!" Ruby pumped a fist in the air.

Miss Goodwitch sighed. "I cannot stress how important it is that you listen to Schnee and Qrow, if at any point they think the situation is too dangerous for you then they will send you back. Understood?"

"Yep, we got this." I say with confidence. I mean who knows, maybe we'll meet some friendly aliens and have a strawberry sunrise together. Or maybe we'll kick their butts.

"Good, and good luck" she says, walking away.

"Excellent now we can go" Winter says. With Weiss at her heels, Blake in tow and Ruby hanging off of our Uncle we finally leave.

A2's POV

"This is it?" I ask as we step out of the thick forests and into a clearing, rather it looks like the metal structure made the clearing.

"No this is just a bathroom break" Aileen quipped. "What else would it be?"

"Shouldn't you be scanning for flood life forms?" I asked.

"Oh ye of little faith I already have! Besides, Hallowed Object would tell us if there was a threat, right buddy?" She called out.

"Hmm? Yes of course" It said. He said?

"I think we should hurry, I can't detect any life forms" It said speeding towards to entrance, and by that I mean the giant hole.

"Isn't that a good thing?" I ask.

"It could be, it could mean that the parasite has not escaped its cryogenic containment." It explains "Or it could mean that it has escaped the installation entirely."
"Let us hope it's the first."
