y/n took a deep breath and tried to stop her hands from shaking too much. she looked at the group of boys standing a few feet away from her, they didn't notice y/n. or they just don't cared.

"c'mon, you can do this", the girl whispered to herself and walked up to the boys who turned their heads to her, wondering what she wants.

"patrick?", she asked nervous and the said boy raised one eyebrow. "can i talk to you?" patrick slowly nodded, still not knowing what she wants from him. henry bowers eyed her up for a moment but then he left with his friends victor and belch.

"so", patrick starts and stood now in front of her. "what do you want?" y/n cleared her throat and faced the ground nervous. "i wanted to tell you that...i love you", she then said and finally looked up at the guy.

he sighed, "y/n, i-", "no, wait", y/n interrupted him. "let me explain. i don't want this to sound pathetic but", she stopped to take a deep breath, "i need you. not in that dirty way but- i really need you. after all i went through you were the only person there for me. i know you are different. not just a bully. you made me feel like i am worth it and i am so thankful for that. i-i love you", y/n whispered the last part and patrick shook his head.

"y/n, we can't." "but why not?", she instantly asked back. patrick sighed again. "i am not what you want, y/n. i am cruel to people, i know that myself. i don't want to hurt you and i know i will. it's better if we just stop hanging out. i love you but i can't be with you", patrick told her and a tear rolled down y/n's cheek.

"b-but patrick", "sorry", were the last words before the boy turned around to catch up with his friends. that was the last time y/n and patrick talked.
