"Where are you going?" Ashton giggles as he tried taking the steering wheel from me.

"No, Ashton we are going to die." I joked while trying to swat his hand away from the steering wheel.

"Elissa we are going to get lost." He said while finally giving up and returning to his side of the car.

"Ashton we arent even going to a specific place. Calm down." I said giggling as he picked up my hand. We kept driving and I spaced out once again into the horrible memories that led us to where we were.

-

"Hey Evelyn, wheres Ashton." the asshole from chemistry called across the hall.

"Um, my name is Elissa." I said already annoyed with his presence.

"Yeah whatever, where is the loser." David asked.

"I don't know." I said while rolling my eyes and walking the other way.

"Well he was being a dick today and I don't take shit from anyone." David said while trying to act tough in front of his friends.

"Why didn't you say something to him while he was being a "dick'." I said as I pushed past him and his assholes of friends.

"Hey I'm not done talking to you." He said as I continued walking down the hallway. "Evelyn." He screamed. I turned around and flipped him off.

-

"Elissa, watch out." Ashton screeched as I turned back into my lane of traffic.

"Oh sorry." I said.

"Elissa are you thinking about it again." Ashton asked knowing what was wrong.

"I can't help it Ash." I said looking at him briefly.

"Pull over." he said.

"Ashton no it's fine." I said getting annoyed.

"No pull over." He said sternly.

"Fine." I said while pulling to the side of the road. Ashton scooted over to my side of the truck and let me rest my head on his shoulder while rubbing his hands up and down my arm.

"Elissa you have to let it go. Let it all out of your mind." He whispered into my ear. I refused to cry in front of Ashton. I couldn't.

"It's not fair that we have to be the ones running away when we did nothing wrong. Why does he get to stay at school and we have to be the ones living our lives day by day with a chance of getting caught. Why don't we get to be at school. I miss Emma and Luke. I miss being at school. I miss my parents. Hell ash I even miss my freaking dog. I don't want to live like this anymore. I want to go home." I said with shaky breaths refusing to cry knowing that Ashton would cry too.

"Elissa, we will go back. That asshole just needs to be caught." Ashton said while turning my head towards his. "You will see Emma, Luke, your parents and even Charlie." Ashton said with a smile as he leaned his forehead against mine. "We will be safe again. I swear it to you." He said so quietly that I barely heard him. He finally pressed his lips against mine and then my cheeks and then my nose. He moved back to my lips and kissed me again allowing me to forget about everything for a while.
