Chapter 12
Jake
I was starting to think the only purpose of our game nights was to cause drama and revelations. Last time, Infinity found out her best friend and her brother were dating. This time, I had a feeling it was going to be a lot worse.
One of Flynn's flaws was him taking things way too casually. It could be a good thing at times, but not when his actions could negatively affect people.
"You seem distracted," Logan said while we were driving to the Coopers' house. "Everything okay?"
I sighed. "I don't know. I'm just... very confused with something that happened yesterday."
"What happened?" Logan asked.
I didn't answer right away because I didn't exactly know what to say and how Logan will react. My best friend kissed me yesterday just so I wouldn't have to worry about my first kiss anymore. The only problem I was seeing about it was the fact that Flynn had a girlfriend.
"Jake, seriously, what happened?" Logan asked.
"Okay, theoretically, if you kissed someone else, would that be considered cheating on Infinity?" I asked.
Logan furrowed his eyebrows and didn't say anything else as he pulled into the driveway of the Coopers' home. Once he turned off the car, he looked at me. "I know you wouldn't ask that if something similar didn't happen. And since you don't have a girlfriend or a boyfriend, I'm going to take a wild leap and guess that Flynn kissed someone else."
"Yeah, he did," I said. "I told him it's cheating, but he said it wasn't and he even is going to tell Lilly."
Logan snorted. "Well, it's going to be interesting seeing her reaction." We got out of the car and went to the front door. Before we could walk inside, Logan stopped. "Wait a second. I don't get something. Flynn had been head over heels in love with Lilly for years. Why would he kiss someone else? And why would he think it's not cheating?"
I only shrugged because I had no idea what to say.
Logan opened the front door and we walked into the house since they were so used to us coming over all the time. They said we didn't even have to bother knocking.
"Finally, you're here," Infinity said once we walked in and closed the door behind us. "Flynn is getting impatient. I kept telling him not to eat anything until you two arrive otherwise he would eat everything."
"And now I can finally eat," Flynn said, reaching for a bowl of chips sitting on the coffee table.
I went to the living room and sat down on the chair while Logan went to help Infinity choose a boardgame.
And considering how Lilly didn't look mad, I had a feeling Flynn didn't tell her yet.
Either that or she was as casual as Flynn was.
Nope, it definitely had to be the first one.
"Flynn?" I asked and he looked over at me. "Did you... You know?"
"Eat all the food?"
"What? No. The thing yesterday."
"Oh, that," Flynn said before looking at Lilly. "So, funny thing. Jake thinks I cheated on you."
Lilly was silent for a bit, her eyebrows furrowed. "I'm sorry, what?"
"I didn't," Flynn said. "Jake thinks I did."
