The day has arrived, I'm going to meet Thorne.
I still haven't told Colby about what Derek told me about early, fake imprinting, or my meeting with Thorne.
Derek said he will pick me up soon to help with the meeting.
I sit in my room, wasting time until I hear my doorbell.
It's Derek.
"Hi Newbie, are you all set? Where's your human?" He laughs.
"Har, har! He's at his house." I said.
"Okay, we'll pick him up on the way." He smiles.
"Pick him up?" I ask.
"Yeah, He has to.... wait! Haven't you told him?!" He asks.
"No, why would I? I thought I'd wait for it to be sorted first." I said.
Derek takes a big breath and blows out slowly with his head in his hands.
"Right get in the car, you're going to have to get him and explain on the way, it's about an hours drive." He explains.
"Oh shit!" I said with my hands on my mouth, stressed.
I get into Dereks car and head to Colbys house. I text him on the way. "Hey baby, I'm coming to pick you up, we need to go somewhere, please trust me I'll explain on the way."
Colby texts back almost straight away saying "I'm worried now, what's going on? How are you picking me up?"
Before I get chance to reply we arrive at Colbys. I undo my seat belt and rush out the car to get Colby. I press the intercom.
BZZZZZ.
"Hello?" Says Aaron.
"Hey Aaron it's ******, could you tell Colby I'm here?" I ask.
"Yeah sure." He says.
"Cheers Aaron." I say.
A few minutes later Colby comes out his front door and walks up the driveway towards me.
He looks confused at Dereks car and Derek sitting inside.
"Babe this is Derek, he's taking us to a meeting I have and I didn't know you had to come until now so I'm sorry for not explaining until now." I explain.
I get into Dereks car and Colby follows cautiously.
We head off to the meeting.
On the way I explain everything to Colby about the meeting and the possible fake imprinting and everything else.
"But I'm not in pain? I swear!" Says Colby, angrily.
I grab his hand.
"I happy to hear that. I'd never hurt you! And I would of thought being a victim myself I'd notice any signs if you were?" I said.
"We can do this baby. I will prove to this old guy that I'm ready and that you aren't hurting me and that you've got to be a rare case of early imprinting." Says Colby, passionately.
"Don't worry kids, you've got this." Smiles Derek.
"We're here!" Says Derek.
Colby and I look out our windows and see and old, part abandoned castle with a long windy driveway at the top of a hill.
We drive right to the top and park outside a large wooden door.
Colby takes my hand as we get out of the car.
Derek changes his appearance to his 'natural form'.
"You too newbie!" He says.
"Why?" I ask.
"It's respectful." He responds.
I close my eyes and breathe in then change to my natural form.
We walk up the stone steps to the large wooden door.
Without even knocking, the door opens on its own and a vampire is standing a few feet away, inside the castle.
We step inside and Derek nods at the vampire. The vampire then turns around and walks down the hallway, we follow. We make our way through the castle and lastly, up a spiral, stone staircase
At the top we enter a small top tower room. Sitting at the back of the room, on large stone chairs are 3 vampires and 4 positioned around the room. Derek walks forward and nods to the main vampire seated in the middle.
He nods back then leans to the side to see me and Colby.
In an old, rusty voice he says "welcome child, thank you for coming, I am Thorne........ please..... come closer...."
I nervously walk closer to Thorne, now in front of Derek.
I nod at Thorne. Thorne nods back and smiles.
"I assure Derek here has explained today's purpose in full detail.........? And yes, you're a newbie with your......human." He said sniffing and peering at Colby.
Thorne places his hand out, in front of me. "Don't be afraid child." He says.
I slowly raise my hand and place it into his. He grasps it firmly and closes his eyes for a few moments until his eyes open again. He peers over at Colby and puts out his other hand for Colby to take.
Colby looks around the room at everyone then slowly treads forward. He looks at Colby as he places his hand into his.
Thorne grasps both our hands, tight and closes his eyes.
Thornes eyes suddenly open at me. "You are good my child, very good. You're heart may be black but inside it's full of gold...but.....your soul is so black I cannot see your future or your intentions.....but that heart is strong, I've never felt one like it.
I do hope for all our sakes you're not evil......we will be watching, we have eyes and ears everywhere as a precaution......so don't be afraid...." he says.
Thorne eyes direct at Colby.
Colby looks slightly fear full but strong.
"HUH ha! Human, I could smell you coming.....I'm not concerned though, you will soon to be one of us......I also feel a strong heart, not as strong your partners, mind you but yes....definitely strong.
.....Hahahahaha, what a boring soul you are human.....hahahha" Laughs Thorne.
All the other vampires begin to laugh too.
Colby yanks his hand out of Thornes sharply but Thorne immediately swipes it back!
"YOU HUMAN ARE LUCKY RO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN! As you are, you would never have been chosen if it was up to me! You're lucky free will is at play here or you would be nothing!" Growls Thorne.
Thorne slowly releases Colbys hand as Colby steps back behind Derek looking frightened.
I feel Colbys fear.
Thorne stares at Colby then at me.
"Urm what about the im..." I mutter.
"SILENCE!" Roars Thorne.
"Silly newborn, how you're even worthy is beyond me. Still behaving like a human....disgusting! HUMPH!" Continues Thorne as he releases my hand in a disgusted manor.
"The imprint is real.....NOW GO. Leave..." Says Thorne.
Derek nods at Thorne and ushers me and Colby back through the castle and back to the car.
"That guy was creepy as hell!" Says Colby.
Derek turns around to us in the back seat.
"That was a good outcome. Don't worry about him, he many be big and scary but he just leaves everyone to get on with it. You kids will be fine as long as you turn your human...I mean Colby, sorry." Says Derek.
Derek starts the car and drives away from the castle.
