So, UNLIKE this poser Black Parade musical, this will stay true to the album and The Patient will be the main character. Here are rough descriptions of some of the characters.
The Patient: Late teens-20s. This guy can't catch a break. He's got abusive parents (not sure about siblings yet, I know it says sisters and brothers in Cancer but that may need a change) and his only comfort is his Aunt Marie (mentioned in Cancer) who takes care of him when life gets rough. Has behavioral issues due to his rough upbringing (The Sharpest Lives) and takes solace in music. Just when he finally finds love, he's diagnosed with cancer. At first, he sees it as a release, but slowly realizes he wants a chance at life after all.
Narrator Guy (not gonna be his actual name, just a working title until I can come up with something better): Aka Gerard's character from the Black Parade video. May or may not be a ghost telling the patient's story, who also has a haunting backstory of his own (see Mama for more details.) Dark sense of humor. Might play piano?
There's probably gonna be a love interest for The Patient because of certain lines in Cancer and Famous Last Words but I want her to have a personality of her own, I'm not sure what songs she'd sing though.
Aunt Marie and Narrator Guy's mother (the lady who sings in Mama) would be played by the same person.
