Chapter Six- Do it For Him

John's POV

I was outside practicing archery when I heard yelling from the distance, "Hamilton! You can't get sad over it anymore it's been a year suck it up!" It was Lafayette. I wanted to run over to them but I remembered that Maria wanted me to get good archery so I just kept shooting with the mindset of, 'Do it for him' pushing me throughout my training. Day after day I was getting better but I wasn't hitting the target. Maria would watch me and give me tips. We were a team and inseparable she was like an older sister to me. Soon I started hitting the target it was September, "Maria oh my god I hit it for once!" I said in pure joy. She laughed, "You sound like a kid that just got the newest IPhone." She teases causing us to go into a fit of laughter. Maria and I would fight zombies with bows and arrows from ceilings. I would still hear yelling from out of the forest. I know what the house looked like I remembered going inside and Alexander talking to me and trying to keep me there before Lafayette kicked me out again. A couple times I fell from the roof and almost died a couple times a let out a scream and I could hear Lafayette, Alex, or Mulligan talking about it in the distance saying things such as, "That poor person must've died." Or, "Are they Alright?" But nobody would come find us. One day we were on the roof once more, "Maria.. do you miss her?" She looked at me confused, "Do you miss Peggy?" I asked. She nodded and smiled sadly, "Everyday But everyday im alive I stay alive by telling my self Do it for her." I smiled, "I wonder one day if you will see her again." I said, she shook her head sadly, "No... she got torn apart her limbs were taken off one by one and then her head she is long gone. But one day I hope I'll meet up with her after I die. I stay alive for you now because you are my younger brother and I love you with all my heart." She said. I looked down, "Heh, Love you too sis." I said. When it was interrupted by a wave of zombies about fifty. They were trying to climb up the walls and the stress starting to take us over when Maria looked more confident and told me, "Do it for her... that is to say you do it for him." I nodded and started shooting the zombies faster until one was left. I took my knife out of my pocket and chucked it at its head, "Wow that was cool." Maria laughed. I smiled and nodded, "That was the point before climbing down a ladder surrounded by fence.

Maria's POV

I'm surprised by John's effort. Whenever we talk about his boyfriend it's like he gets a power up. Maybe it's because all he wants is to be with him again he always tells me he Can't wait to see him again because he loves him so much. I have had to save John's Life before he has almost fell off the roof at least five times, and he almost died or got turned again by zombies multiple times but, he's gotten better. I think of him as a younger brother or even a son. I taught him everything I know about archery. It brings back memories of Peggy and I. We would always practice archery and laugh and never be separated. Until the wave of zombies was too big and she died. My legacy used to be to protect her. Now, all I need to do is protect him and keep going for her. Sometimes I would see John staring out of the forest sadly. I know it's because he misses his boyfriend. I've been there missing your loved one so much but staying alive for them. Maybe, that is why we are so close. Because we relate to each other in almost every way. It's sweet really. I want to let him go but I'm scared he will get bit again. I'm the over protective sister.
