This is my first fanfic, so feel free to comment any suggestions or fix my mistakes :)
This will be in third person most of the time, but if it goes into first person I will tell you who's POV it is.
Newt looked out the window of his mom's black rental car, staring up at the fluffy white clouds and the bright sun. Nervous and excited, Newt's stomach flip-flopped as they pulled up to a gorgeous campus. The buildings were tall and well constructed. There were long green stems of ivy wrapping around each building, surprisingly it didn't make the campus look old and pitiful, only more beautiful.
"Do you need help taking your belongings in?" Newt's mother asked they slowed down to a stop.
"No, I'm fine," said Newt. He looked into his mother's brown eyes and noticed her worried expression. "Really, I'm fine mother, everyone is new today," he said with a smile.
"Okay," she smiled back "I'm just nervous with you being more than 2,000 miles from home." Newt's mother always seemed to forget the fact that she had another child at home, Newt's little sister Sonya.

Newt stepped out of the car and grabbed his bags. He waved goodye to his mother and shut the car door, but not before planting a small kiss on her forehead. As the black SUV behind him sped away, he looked at the crowds of people walking around, took a deep breath and began walking.

Newt had retrieved his dorm number and key, from the student center. He walked down the sun-lit path to Edison Campus, where his dorm would be.
Newt walked into a small dorm room, his name and another guy named Ben's name were already on a sign on the door. He looked around taking in the scene. It was a small room, there was a twin bed on each side of the room, along with a dresser and wooden desk. One of the beds already had a black backpack and suitcase thrown on it, so Newt claimed the other one.
After about an hour Newt had finished unpacking all his belongings, and he had arranged all his items. He looked at the tidy room and smiled to himself, maybe college wouldn't be so bad after all.
This chapter was really short and there was no Newtmas, but I can definitely promise some Newtmas in the next chapter! Thx for reading if anyone is actually reading this... But I'll update soon!
