Thomas's POV:

I pressed my back against the brittle wood of my dorm door. Moments after I had burst into the small room, Minho had ran out in search of Newt to see what had happened. Minho had known Newt as long as I had, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that I was emotionally stronger than the quiet, blonde boy.

I stayed against the door for a few moments to regain my breath. After Newt had displayed his abrupt act of affection, I had ran all the way from
the roof of the building, to the cozy room that I called home.

I felt terrible, literally terrible. My heart physically ached from the occurrence. I hadn't gotten a good look at Newt's face, but I didn't need to to know that there were tears in his eyes. I closed my eyes gently and slid to the floor as I let my thoughts overtake my body.

*Flashback*

Thomas was alone in his bedroom with the new kid from school. High schoolers could be pretty mean. Nobody wanted to befriend the new kid at school, especially because he was suspected to be gay. On the other hand, nobody really talked to Thomas either. So, Thomas had taken Aaron under his wing and befriended him.

The two boys were sitting on Thomas's bed doing math homework when Aaron interrupted their study session,

"So Thomas," Aaron started slowly, "Who are you going to homecoming with?" Thomas jerked his head up from the equations,

"W-why? Has anybody been talking about me?" He stuttered. The other boy laughed,

"No stupid, I was just wondering," Thomas looked back down at his paper, school dances had never interested him very much. They were just an exscuse for popular kids to dress up and hang out. Aaron looked up at Thomas, his blue eyes glowing brightly.

"Well, how would you like to go with me?"

"What?" Thomas had barely reacted before the blue eyed boy's lips were pressed firmly against his.

Thomas experienced a sensation he had never felt before. Somehow it felt different to kiss a boy, somehow it was more enjoyable. Before Thomas could fully comprehend the situation, he closed his eyes and kissed back.

This kiss was different than anything either boy had experienced. It was warm, tender, and passionate. It could have led into anything, but neither boy would ever learn what.

"What is going on here?" A gruff voice snapped. Both boys pulled away from each other to see Thomas's dad standing in the doorway. Both boys were on their feet in seconds.

"Nothing!" Thomas practically shouted.  Aaron grabbed his bag and slung it over his muscular shoulder.

"I'm going to leave now," he mumbled.

"I think that would be best," Thomas's dad replied, his expression unchanged.
