Carrying My Princess

TW: None

"Wh- what was that for?!" yelped Anxiety. Clutching on to Roman for dear life.

"Just carrying my princess." the fanciful side said. Anxiety blushed madly shoving his face against the others chest,

"Sh- shut up!" he replied embarrassedly.

"Aw, do you not like that nickname? I can stop calling you that." Roman said considerately. Anxiety looked up surprised.

"Wait, seriously? How is it possible for someone to be that nice? You actually care whether I like a nickname or not?" he said incredulously. No one had ever bothered to see if Anxiety liked something or not!

"Well of course' I care! I don't want you to feel uncomfortable or upset. I can assure you that I care a whole lot about you." the prince replied. Virgil was still shocked but he smiled and nodded a little bit.

"Wow, I'm really lucky to have you. B- but the nicknames fine it's just kind of embarrassing." he replied feeling his face flush and resting his chin on Princey's shoulder. Roman stopped walking for a second,

"No. I'm lucky to have you." he said dead serious, holding Anxiety close. He continued to walk to his room and drop his boyfriend onto the bed. The dark trait yelped in surprise as he landed on the bed. Roman flopped down next to Anxiety wrapping an arm around him. The younger trait snuggled into Princey's side. Roman leaned down and pecked Virgil on the lips.

"I've gotta go get breakfast, you can chill out in my room till I get back." He said slowly sitting up. Anxiety nodded reluctantly, smiling lightly at the prince. Roman stood up "I will return shortly my princess!" he said walking out the door, leaving Anxiety a blushing mess.

Roman walked down the hall and into the kitchen, his boots clicking on the hardwood floor. When In the kitchen he started getting some cereal. Whilst doing that, he thought of his Emo Nightmare. How he wished that Anxiety could see how amazing and wanted he was, how important he was. He thought back to what the dark trait had said, 'I'm the worst! I have problems you don't even know about!' What did that mean? What was Anxiety not telling him about? He just hoped that it wasn't anything serious that could cause his boyfriend harm.

"Hiya kiddo!" Roman looked up seeing that Patton had entered the room.

"Greetings!" he replied cheerfully, then looking back down to the two bowls he had in front of him. He turned around and grabbed a cereal box. It was Frosted Flakes. He hoped Anxiety liked that type of cereal, but who doesn't like Frosted Flakes?

"Roman? Why are you making two bowls of cereal?" asked Patton sounding confused.

"Oh! I'm making Anxiety breakfast!" he said.

"Oh. Well thank you for helping the kiddo out. I think he really needs someone to fall back on." Patton said with warmth in his voice.

"It's my pleasure! I just feel so bad that-" he cut himself off. He didn't know if Morality knew about how Anxiety felt about himself. "Nevermind." He said hastily. Patton looked at him quizzically but decided to let it go. By that time Prince had finished pouring the cereal and milk into the two bowls.

"Hey Pat? Do you know what Anxiety likes to drink?" Roman asked wanting his boyfriend to enjoy his breakfast.

"Oh yeah! I've noticed that he usually gets himself chocolate milk. I think there's some in the fridge." Patton replied happy to help the prince out. Roman nodded saying his thank you, grabbing the chocolate milk out of the fridge, pouring some of it into a glass. The author decided to skip the rest of the process as to not bore the readers. Roman picked up their breakfast and carried it back to his room. When he arrived he opened the door to see Anxiety curled up on his bed wrapped in the blankets.

Upon hearing Princey enter the room Anxiety looked up. Roman chuckled.

"You look like a burrito, a really cute burrito." he said. The younger side blushed burying his face into the fuzzy comforters. "Come out~" the prince coaxed. Anxiety only grunted in response keeping his face deep in the covers. "I have food~" the hiding trait lifted his head up a little bit.

"What did you get?" he asked timidly, a pink tint still lingering on his face. Roman smiled noticing that when his boyfriend became flustered he would hide his face. He assumed it was a reflex as to not show his embarrassment. He thought it was cute.

"Well, I got us Frosted Flakes, it was the only cereal we had, and I got you chocolate milk. Patton told me you liked it." Anxiety looked at Roman surprised, why did Roman care so much about the dark traits happiness. Anxiety was dark and unlovable, how was it that the prince could fall for him. It couldn't be real. Could it? He just sat there silent looking at Princey shock veiling his face.

"Are you okay?" Roman's voice snapped him from his thoughts.

"Y- yeah. Thank you!" He responded trying to cover up his previous shock. Roman didn't buy the younger traits cover up but he decided to let it go for the time being. He handed Anxiety his bowl and glass of chocolate milk. The darker side took them thankfully.

"Do you want to watch a Disney movie?" he asked. Anxiety nodded and smiled, the reaction Princey was hoping for. He grinned widely grabbing a disk from his movie basket and sliding it into the DVD player. As the movie started Anxiety focused on the TV, staring intently at the screen.

The younger trait felt his eyes begin to droop as the movie went on. The television began to turn to background noise. A little more than halfway through he could barely keep his eyes open. He struggled trying to stay awake but failing and letting his head fall onto Romans shoulder. He drifted off to sleep to the muffled sound of the TV and Princeys warmth.

Roman looked too his side and saw that Anxiety was asleep, resting his head on the princes shoulder. He smiled Anxiety was an undeniably cute sleeper. The prince brushed some hair away from the sleeping sides face, studying it. He was beautiful (pretend that the sides look a little different from each other) Anxiety had long dark lashes and delicate features- Wait. Were those freckles?! Thomas doesn't even have freckles! They were adorable. Anxiety was really good at hiding them until now.
