Lee Daehwi

[Part 1]

I've had a crush on my classmate for a year by now. We've been classmates for 3 years straight and by luck, I've been assigned as his desk mate each year.

"(Y/N)-ah, have you done your physics homework?" Daehwi asked.

"Freak.... I forgot!" I look at him wide-eyed.

"Do it quick!" He handed me his book and I started copying the answers.

The teacher came in a little while later and thank god I finished copying his answers. Before class starts, we were told to hand in our books.

It was P.E period and the boys played basketball while the girls played badminton.

I was playing a 1 on 1 match with one of my best friends, Hyejin. I jumped up but lost my balance when I landed resulting to me kneeling on the floor.

I tried to get up but my knee hurts a lot....

"(Y/N)-ah, gwaenchana?" Hyejin asked.

"I can't get up." My eyes started to water.

Daehwi rushed towards me and carried me all the way to the nurse's office.

The nurse checked my knee and told me that I might have hit it too hard on the floor.

She said that it might hurt for another half an hour or so and I was told to stay there until the pain goes away. Daehwi was excused as well to accompany me.

"Daehwi-ah, you should go to class." I nervously looked around to avoid eye contact.

It feels awkward being alone in a room with your crush..... You get all nervous for some type of reason or is it just me?

"I should be here with you. What if you need something and there is no one around to help you?"

I nodded and pursed my lips still looking away from him. A little while later, I decided to break the silence.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked as my lips are getting dried.

"Sure." He looked up from his phone.

"We've been friends for 3 years by now."

"Yeah."

"You've always helped me a lot and we've spent a lot of our breaks together. Why did you agree on doing all that even though you could've rested? Even though there was this once you really wanted to go to Lotte World with Jinyoung, you still spent the day with me doing math." 

"Do everything I do need a reason?" 

"I was just asking." I shrugged.

"Was there a reason that you asked?"

"Of course there is."

"What is it?"

"I like you." I blurted out as fast as I could.

Daehwi blankly sat there looking straight at me, his phone still in hand. Then, a ding sound came from his phone notifying him for the message he received.

"I'm very sorry, you're nice and beautiful but I just don't have the same feelings towards you." He held my hand tight.

"It's okay. I just wanted to get it out before I lose the courage to do so." I fake smiled.

We stayed together in silence until the bell for lunch rang. Daehwi asked if I needed help walking to the canteen but I wasn't in the mood to even look at him.

Hyejin came a while later and helped me. After lunch, I didn't want to miss class anymore but since I also didn't want to meet Daehwi, I excused myself to go home early because of my knee.

A few days later, my knee was well rested and I've been going to school as usual. I was doing some exercises while waiting for the teacher when I noticed Daehwi and Hyejin walking in side by side.

I didn't want to mind them so I ignored whatever that was happening and continued to study. Another best friend of mine, Naeun, came and sit at Daehwi's seat.

"Have you heard?" She asked.

"What." I blankly looked at her.

"Daehwi and Hyejin are dating!"

My heart felt like it was shattering into very small pieces like shattered glass... No matter how hard you try, you just can't find which pieces fit to put it back together.

"She didn't even tell us." Naeun pouted.

Whatever she said after that didn't even process in my head. I couldn't think of anything but how much betrayal I am feeling at the moment.

It's not just because my best friend who betrayed me and not tell me about her boyfriend, but also my desk mate and friend who rejected me for my best friend.

2 days later, I arrive at school and the students were all watching me as I walk. What's happening now.....?

"I can't believe you're such a btch." A random girl said to me.

What did I do?!

"(Y/N)-ah, let's talk." Naeun pulled me to the rooftop where it was empty.

I need to cut this into 2 parts cuz it's rather long... I have so much ideas on writing this dramatic sht lol
