hi, since wattpad isn't really my biggest platform I haven't really used it to showcase my support to the issue that's going on rn but then I realize that even by getting the attention of a few people, I could help make a change.

so to all of you who's reading this, I hope you are doing everything you can to support the Black Lives Matter movement. some of the ways to help is to post on social media and raise awarness but please don't just stop there!

please help sign petitions! I can't really put links on here (or maybe I can but i'm dumb)

here are some funds to donate to : -

(note : there's a lot of funds out there to donate to and the ones i'm listing here are just a few of them... you can search up more on the internet if you want to donate more!)

1. victim memorial funds :

- George Floyd Memorial Fund
- I Run With Maud
- Jamed Scurlock Memorial Fund
- Tony Mcdade Memorial Fund
- Gianna Floyd Fund
- Justice For Breonna Taylor

2. bail funds :

- The Bail Project
- National Bail Out
- National Bail Fund Network COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund
- People's Program Bail Out Fund

3. frontline funds :

- Mitch Gyans's community supplies fund;
donations go to Gayns, the host of Those People podcast and a Boston-based protester who is using the funds for supplies — such as snacks, Band-Aids, and flashlights — for protesters

- Isak Douah Minneapolis Gas Mask Fund;
donations go to Douah, who is using the money to buy gas masks for black youth activists on the front lines to protect them against tear gas used by the police

- Black Earth Farms Food Delivery Fund;
donations go to Oakland, California–based Black Earth Farms, which is cooking and delivering food to black protesters who have been arrested, bailed, or injured

4. megafunds, where a single donation will be split between multiple organizations :

- Act Blue Bail, Mutual Aid, and Racial Justice Organization Funds

- Act Blue Racism and Police Brutality Funds

- Act Blue Bail Funds

as for myself, i'm sadly still a broke student but to those who are like me we can all donate for free by watching youtube videos!

other than all of that, you can also educate yourself on the importance of this movement and why we should all stand together to support it <3

read articles, learn their story and struggles, there are even books out there that you can read to understand more.

just one thing : unless they offer, please don't ask your black friends or people you follow on social media to spend their time helping you learn about this stuff. there are plenty of resources out there and google is your friend <3

another way is to support black creators and business owners!

here are some that I found from an article :

- Black-Owned Brooklyn (@/blackownedbklyn), an online platform devoted solely to amplifying the voices of black-owned businesses in Brooklyn.

- Eat Okra, an app devoted to mapping black-owned restaurants in New York and beyond that currently has over 2,250 spots listed.

- Shoppe Black, a global resource that has lists on black-owned businesses such as tech-companies, farms, vintage shops, plus so much more.

finally, you can also join protests that are held around your city! if you are joining them, please remember to :

- wear a mask
- bring lots of water
- take extra care of yourself and others around you
- get a covid-19 check up after the protest <3

- water > milk when dealing with tear gas, milk could cause an eye infection so please avoid using milk!

- don't touch your eyes at all if get you maced, get someone else to spray water to your eyes and blink rapidly

- write the bail fund number for your city along with a family member's number on your arm, just in case
