Alex looked at his sister who still wasn't talking. She was so out of it. She couldn't of heard heard him, so that wasn't the problem.
He leaned in close to Mary and whispered, "I think I know what he did to her."
His beautiful blue eyes blinked away the tears that has formed at the thought. It was clear what had happened to her. She had bruises that resembled handprints on her chest and shoulders. And the way she was so not there. Like she had been. She looked up and saw Alex. The look on his face. He was so sad. For his sister.
"I didn't save her." He said, a single tear running across his cheek.
"You couldn't do anything. Look what they did to you."
She looked at the bruise around his eye. The cuts on his cheek. He put his head down and whispered, "thank you."
He walked over to his bed and sat down. Mary sat next to Andrea and tried to make her feel better. She doubted it worked, knowing how it feels. But she had to try. Andi looked up at her and grabbed her hand. She opened it and put something inside. She tightened Mary's fingers around the object.
"I got the key."
