I get up around ten in the morning, but I didn't want to get out of bed. I decided to get up because I still had to take a shower.

I grab a Pierce the Veil shirt, blue jeans, underwear, and a bra and hit the shower.

I get out and dry and straighten my hair. I put on my Chuck Taylor's, brush my teeth, and go downstairs. I see Mom sitting in the living room watching the news, obviously waiting for me because her and I both find the news very boring.

Before I could say anything, Mom asks, "Did you even try on the other dress?" I turn around and walk back upstairs to my room.

I find the dress in my closet and change into it. It was too small. It fit nice, but it was too short. Having long legs sucks.

I change back into my clothes and go downstairs. Mom asks, "Well?" I answer, "It fits, but it's too short." Mom says, "Then let's go to the mall! We don't have all day!"

We climb into Mom's car and drive off. The mall was only ten minutes away, which made things a lot quicker. On the way there, Mom says, "We're going to the place I worked about five years ago, and I talked to my old boss. She said she'll give us half off for any dress you want." I nod and say relieved, "Well that's good."

We get there and walk to the outlet Mom was talking about. We walk through the entrance and to the front counter. I guess Mom's old boss was standing there, because the first thing that came out of that woman's mouth was, "Hey Tara! Is this the one you told me about?" Mom answers, "This is her! Can you show us to the dresses? Haven't been here in a while." The woman says, "Of course! Come with me."

We walk past many girls my age trying on dresses and some looking at me weird. I ignore them and keep walking.

We finally get to the dresses. Mom says, "I'm going to sit over there by the fitting rooms so I can see you when you get some on." I nod. Her old boss says, "I'm Judy if you were wondering." I reply, "I'm Vanessa." Judy says, "Well hi! Let's pick a dress that is your favorite color."

I reply, "It's red."

Judy asks, "What length are you wanting it to be?"

"Perferably to my knees because it's homecoming."

"We have plenty of knee-length dresses, but a slim variety of red ones."

I nod while she pulls out three knee length dresses. She hands them to me and points out the fitting rooms by the place Mom was sitting. I walk into the first room and pick up the first dress.

The first one was a red strapless knee-length dress. It was tight from the waist up, and had somewhat of a frilly lace from the waist to my knees.

I look at myself in the mirror with the dress on. I didn't really like it, but I walked out to show Mom anyway. I step out and she says, "I really don't like that one." I say, "Me neither." I step back into the fitting room and take the dress off to put on the next one.

The second one was an aquamarine knee-length dress with straps that go off your shoulders. It was tight around my chest with a black ribbon separating the bottom, which was layered.

I walk out and show Mom. "I like that one better," she says. I reply, "Same here. I have one more to try on." I walk into the fitting room my stuff was in and take off the dress to put on the last one.

The last one was violet with one strap. It was a tight dress, but it looked really good. It had ruffles on the strap and some on the top.

I step out and say, "This is the one." Mom smiles and exclaims, "I love it! Take it off so we can pay for it." I walk back into the fitting room and put my other clothes back on.

We walk to the front counter and pay for the dress. "Hope you found the dress!" Judy says in a cheerful tone. I smile and respond, "The violet one was my favorite. It looked really good on me."

Mom only had to pay seventy-five dollars of the one hundred fifty because she got a really good discount for working here in the past. We leave the mall and get back in the car. "I hope Sebastian likes the dress," I say with worry. Mom says with confidence, "He will! It's a pretty dress on you! I've never met Sebastian, though." I respond, "You will, and you'll like him."

We finally get home and walk inside. I go up to my room and put the dress in my closet so it's ready for Friday.

I look at the time, and it was six in the evening. I walk out of my room and stand along the rail in the mini hallway and yell down to Mom, "What's for dinner?" She answers, "I'm just ordering a pizza." I yell again, "Okay, when will it get here?" She responds, "In about an hour." I nod and go back to my room.

I pull out some pajamas (a t-shirt and sweatpants) and underwear and get in the shower.

I mostly just stood there at just thought about homecoming. I hoped Sebastian and I would have a good time on Friday. I never danced with anyone, so I would have to turn to Mom for tips. I hope she doesn't get emotional.
