The New Kid

Chapter 10

I sat up and gasped really loud. I looked around to see if I was still alive. I didn't want my dream to really happen. I got up, and got ready for school.

I left the house and waited for Sebastian. After two minutes I gave up and started walking to school. Nobody was on the sidewalks except me. I made it to school, and tried to open the main doors, but they were locked. Great. I pushed the red button on the side of the door for someone to buzz me in. No one answered. I saw Principal Burdett walking towards the door, and she said, "Vanessa, it's Monday." I replied, "I know." She said, "Thanksgiving break is for a week this year." I moved my lips like I was saying a long oh, but no noise came out. Principal Burdett said, "Have a good week!" I replied, "You too!" I felt like an idiot. Mom was at work, so she wouldn't be home until three. That's when I got off school so I didn't have a key! Crap. I had to text somebody and ask if I could go to one of my friend's house. I texted Elizabeth.

Me: Hey are you awake?

Elizabeth: I am now

Me: Srry

Elizabeth: Wht do u want

Me: Nm

Elizabeth: Ok

Next up, Sebastian Ginn.

Me: R u awake? Plz say u r

Sebastian: Don't worry. I got ready for school, then I realized it was a week long break

Me: Hey! I'm not alone!

Sebastian: Lol nice

Me: My mom left for work, and I left my key at my house. Can I come over?

Sebastian: My mother is at work so I'll have to ask her first

Me: Kk

*5 minutes later*

Sebastian: K u can come over

Me: B right over

I started walking to his house from mine. I knocked on the door and he answered. "Hey!" he greeted me. I replied back, "Hey! Can I come in or are we staying outside for hours?" Sebastian moved his body and held out his arm saying I could go in. I walked in and they had furniture and a television. "I gotta text my mom and tell her I'm over here," I said. He nodded, and I texted Mom.

Me: Apparently we have a week long break, and I left my key at the house, so I'm over at Sebastian's

Mom: It's fine. I'll text you when I'm home

Me: Ok

"She said it's okay!" I said. Sebastian replied, "Awesome! Now what?" We just stood there like, "Now what do we do?" I threw out an idea. "Let's eat!" Sebastian smiled after I said it, and he pulled out a bag of potato chips and a two cans of brown soda.

We sat there at the bar eating and talking. It was just random conversations. I started the first one.

"So?" I started to ask. "How's Seattle going for ya'?"

"Good," he replied. "I like the teachers."

"Even Mr. Brady?"

"He's okay."

"Really?"

"No, I hate him! He doesn't like me for some reason!"

"I know! He said that people like us are a disgrace to this planet."

"Did he really say that?"

"Yep. He let us listen to our music one time in class while we were working on homework. He walked up to me, I looked up at him, I pulled out an earphone, asked him, 'Yes?' He asked me, 'What are you listening to White?' I told him, 'Black Veil Brides.' So he was a jerk and said, 'How about you take those headphones out, and let everyone listen to it.' I did as he said, and everyone started laughing. He asked, 'Why do you listen to these emo satanists?' I stood up and said to devend myself, 'Listen Brady, you need to stop judging people by how they look and what their taste is. Black Veil Brides is a catholic band with a dark image.' So I got a detention."

"Nice."

Our conversations lasted forever. Around three, Mom texted me.

Mom: Come home

Me: K b there soon

 "I gotta go," I said. "My mom just texted me." Sebastian replied, "Oh, but can I walk you home?" I smiled and said, "Sure!" We walked out his front door, down the stairs, and started walking down the sidewalk. "I had fun," I said. He replied, "Me too. We should do this again sometime this week." I nodded. By my surprise, he reached over, grabbed my hand, and intertwined our fingers. I felt my face get really red. I moved my eyes to Sebastian, who was blushing as well.

We made it to my house, and in front of my house, we turned to each other, and I said, "I really had a great time just sitting and talking." Sebastian nodded and said, "We should do this tomorrow." I nodded. We held hands...again. He kissed me. Just a little peck on the lips. We both smiled, and Sebastian told me bye, and, of course, I said bye back. It's official. I'm falling in love with this guy.
