Normal's POV

Karasuma's breathing was laboured as he stares into everyone's eyes but he lingers a few seconds longer on Karma's golden ones. It was like Karasuma wanted to keep an eye on the red haired just in case he decided to act up. Everyone was still frozen in their seats and Irina was the one who moved first. She fell on the floor and clutched her chest as she tried to still her raging heart. Irina passes out at some point and Koro-sensei had to take her to the infirmary and nurse her real quick before he collects more info on Hime's death. His heart was hammering against his chest as well. He couldn't believe his ears. Koro-sensei, the one who is supposed to be fluent in a lot of languages had some difficulties in understanding Karasuma's simple Japanese. When he got in the class, the ambience was still the same as before as he shuts the door close with a soft thud.

It was then everyone starts moving as they let the information sink in. Koro-sensei watches his students' expressions change before their lacrimal glands begins to work. But one particular student has not made any distinct movement.

"K-Karasuma-sensei, what do you mean, Hime-chan died?" Kayano Kaede asks with tears in her eyes. She couldn't breathe nor could she handle the pain in her chest. The excruciating pain of losing Hime managed to mask the pain the tentacles hat has been feeding off her bloodlust for months. Losing Hime is probably the next painful thing after losing her sister a year ago and she doesn't even know who the place the blame of her best friend on.

"She died yesterday night during the raid in the palace. It was just Hime and her father along with the palace staffs. Apparently, there was a lese-majesty and we still have yet to discover who is behind it all. We don't know if the Emperor is still alive but the Empress is still alive. We have her with us back in the quarters along with Prince Haru. She was very shaken up." Karasuma explains.

"Her body. I want to see it." The cheerful blonde of class 3E said all of a sudden. "I cant just accept the fact that she just died. She cant just die, Karasuma-sensei! It's Hime!" Rio Nakamura said as she tried to keep her tears in. "Karma, you're with me on this, right?" She asks, bringing all the attention to Karma. The red haired boy is still stunned, as he stares at the cursive handwriting on the paper. "Karma?" She tries again, much quieter this time when she sees how Karma didn't even bat his eye at the letter. Any longer and the letter would really burn up to ashes.

I love you, Karma.

He could only focus on Hime's face, the one that he has grown to love over the years as his mind takes him back to the first time he saw her to the last time he saw her before she left. All that engraved in his mind was her tear-stricken face as she pleads at him to not leave her. Even when she's crying, he couldn't help but think that he loves this girl. He truly does; with all his heart and being. His heart couldn't help but clench as he thought of how beautiful she looked despite having tears stain her cheeks. He couldn't help but think that he loves her too and how she will never be able to know.

"Karma-kun?" Koro-sensei quietly approaches the boy as he places a tentacle on his shoulder. Karma was caught off guard and he jumped a little on his seat. He stares at the yellow octopus in front of him without making a single noise. With that action alone, it made everyone realise how painful it must have been for Karma to lose character that he isn't able to stay cool and calm. But then again, Hime, the girl that he's in love with is dead. They were two peas in a pod despite the constant bickering, goading and teasing, everyone knows the two shares a deep bond. And even a blind person could see that they like each other.

"Karma, you can't possibly believe that she's dead, do you?" Rio asks and Karma stays silent. "Karma, answer me!" Rio raises her voice.

"Then what do you want to believe, Rio?" Karma asks, averting his gaze to Rio. The blonde wanted to cry so badly as she balls her fist. "What's a dead body going to make a difference?" The boy stands up and crumples the letter and shoves it deep in his pocket. He can't do this right now. He just cant. He never copes with people leaving him well and it used to affect him so badly when he was younger when his parents decided to leave him behind and that's why he is the way he is today. But Hime.. He was just so sure that she will never leave him. Funny thing is, instead of her leaving you, you left her. You left her and now she's dead. It's all your fault. If you'd just accepted her apology and convinced her to stay, maybe you'll be able to save her. Actually, he wasn't sure. But no matter what the outcome, he was 100% sure that it's better than this. Better than her dying, better than her leaving him. Fuck!
