Gregor couldn't fall back asleep. He decided to walk around the castle. As he turned a corner he saw Vikus and  Luxa talking. He ducked behind the wall, but he wanted to know what they were talking about. "No! No! I will not do it! Never!"  Luxa whispered, she sounded angry, "You must! You have to! Do you want your entire kingdom to die out if you do not do this." Vikus almost talked at voice level, but everyone was asleep so he couldn't talk any louder. "Why. We will never get along again! What they said was unforgivable!"  Luxa replied, "Be that, as it may, we need them, we need their army. Thet need us!" Vikus argued. Luxa grunted and stormed off. This seemed odd since Vikus and Luxa rarely fought, Gregor didn't think they ever did fight before.

Gregor kept on walking around the castle, he saw guards, but no one said anything. All he could think about was Vikus and Luxa's fight. What did Vikus mean when he said 'they' or that Luxa had to do something. What did she have to do? The question kept biting him until he saw two familiar people strolling up to  him. He just stood as they spoke quickly and quietly to Gregor, "Gregor, warrior, do you remember the first prophecy? The first one you were mentioned in?" the girl said, "Yeah" Gregor replied slowly, "Lies! All of those  first prophecies were lies! Remember this, the truth they say to you, is the lie they keep from you." the boy said. They both looked so familiar, but Gregor couldn't place where he had seen them.

Gregor went back to bed again. The night seemed to be going on forever, Gregor couldn't fall back asleep, there was too much going on. But he couldn't go home, even if he could, he wouldn't, he would have to help Regalia again. He had to. They helped him live many times. He couldn't say he owed them though, he saved this place four times.

Gregor was relieved when morning came. He wondered why the drama last night didn't wake his dad and sisters. He just shrugged and walked to the dining area, expecting to find his dad, Lizzie, and Boots. When he got there, none of those people were there. Only some guards Gregor had seen before. Mareth, Sara, and the two he saw last night. Also others he didn't know the names of. "Hello Gregor." Mareth said to him. He didn't look very happy. "Hey, where is everybody else?" Gregor asked, "Like who, Your family, or Luxa and Vikus?" Sara asked. Gregor realized the "leaves" Vikus was talking about probably worked, since she wasn't dead. But she sounded and looked weak. "Both." "Dining elsewhere, and training. Would you like to join us?" One of the other guards said. "No thanks." Gregor replied, and walked towards the arena. As he walked about a yard, he heard shouting, a crash, and a scream. That only made him walk faster.

He walked to the arena. He had no choice. Ares died, Gregor really missed Ares, but maybbe he would find a new bond. Thouugh, Ares was irreplacable, but it is easier to get around with a bat. As Gregor walked into the arena, a knife flew inches away past his ear. He jumped, and saw Sara. "Oh. Sorry Overlander! I did not mean to!" She said, running over, and picking up the knife. She smirked, "I am trying a new weapon." she laughed, loading her bow with an arrow. Gregor wondered how she was better so quickly, a spider had poisined her. He shook off the image of her, lying oblivious to everything, mumbling, sick,  out of his head. "Lying on my bed of stone, drifting upon the sea. Broken waves, they whisper to me.Yes you gave me your word, I took a life as told, now this fight is growing old. When we die, we live. When we weep, we smile. When we mourn, we grow. This is a life we will not know."  Sara sang, as she shot some arrows. "We live to die. We smile to weep. We grow to mourn. As we drift off to sleep." the song was beautiful. Gregor listened to the entire song:

Lying on my bed of stone, drifting upon the sea. Broken waves, they whisper to me. Yes you gave me your word, I took a life as told, now this fight is growing old. When we die, we live. When we weep, we smile. When we mourn, we grow. This is a life we will not know. We live to die. We smile to weep. We grow to mourn. As we drift off to sleep. At peace we rest. At morn, we tell ourselves, we will die today. And if we win, we defeated death, yet once again.

At the end of that song, the only thing you could hear were cries and screams, and the spinners attacking.
