We sat awkwardly in his bedroom, I snuck glances at myself in the mirror, suddenly self conscious of my appearance. I didn't recognize myself, I looked...tired. Ding Dong.
A short deep melody sounded through the house, pulling Ryu and I out of a daze. Ryu rushed towards the door, I heard his footsteps thumping against the oak stairs, and I decided to eavesdrop. I peeked around the doorframe to see Ryu talking to a girl. She was beautiful. She looked similar to Ryu, his sister I assumed, but her hair was black, not white. That's when I noticed the black roots of his soft white hair, they contrasted so much I was surprised I didn't notice them before. His sister had long, silky hair that went down to her elbows. A plain black shawl that looked designer hung from her small shoulders, underneath she wore a tight grey dress. Her eyes were cold and stoic, and her skin was pink and paled. As she spoke her mouth barely moved, so I couldn't read her lips. She was like a porcelain figurine; cold and unmoving. They spoke in  hushed voices, but I could still hear the sting and aggressiveness in their inaudible words. I stared at her eyes, they were glazed over but beautiful; unexpectedly, her eyes flickered and she stared back. She tightened her grip around the round black sunglasses she had been holding; her whole head turned to look at me, hair fluttering with the movement. Ryu looked back at me too, he looked stressed. I threw myself back in to the room, heart beating with fear of embarrassment. I heard her heels click up the stairs, and Ryu trying to stop her. I heard the ruckus get closer until I saw her towering over my crouched figure. She looked even more disapproving up close. Ryu soon followed, gripping her elbow, pleading her to slow down.
She studied me for a bit, and her look of disdain melted in to a soft, kind look. She looked younger without a cold, unsettling gaze.
Ryu looked at her nervously as she leaned down to my level and put her face up close to mine. "Tell me, what has he done to you?" She spoke without her soft smile breaking. The question caught me off guard and I could feel an intense heat on my face as it grew redder.
"What?" I looked at Ryu who was trying to look at anywhere but me. "Oh" she spoke again, with a larger grin  " so nothing" Her smile faded "Yet." She burst in to a giggling fit and waltzed out the door, tugging Ryu by his sleeve. He followed, gesturing for me to follow along, still not making eye contact.

"I'm Aneko" introduced Ryu's sister. She'd lead us down to the dining room where she made herself comfortable with a mug of coffee. Ryu finally spoke after blankly staring at the wall for most of Aneko's banter. "Aneko, you have to leave. You can't just walk in to my house and stay without warning." His jaw was clenched and I could tell he was fighting back more harsh words. Aneko set down her cup gently, but it still made a loud thud that made Ryu glare at her. Her smile was locked in place. "You can't possibly be denying your older sister shelter". Aneko made it sound like they were close siblings, but I could tell their relationship was strained. Ryu's expression hardened,
"I do whatever the hell I want". This wasn't the Ryu I had worked with. I'd never seen him so serious. Aneko picked the mug back up, putting it up to her lips "you don't have the upper hand Ryu" she took a sip "so just let it happen." This riled Ryu up and I saw him clench his fists under the table, but he didn't protest and took my hand, leading me back to his room. Leaving Aneko to drink coffee silently.

"So, Aneko's your sister?" Ryu glanced at me, stopping mid-pace. I didn't feel like I was prying, I had just heard a brief summary of his entire family history via Aneko. She didn't question who I was or why I was here, maybe Ryu brought home girls often. This was suddenly not worth the pay. "Unfortunately" he  dropped on his bed, slumping over. I studied his room, it was filled with warm colors, and even more cluttered than the rest of his house. My eyes finally fell on him. He sat, fussing like a small child who had gotten in a fight with their sibling. Which was basically what had happened. Ryu noticed me staring at him with pity, and picked himself back up, a smirk appearing out of nowhere. "We can have fun if you want" I rolled my eyes and stood up, grabbing my bag that I had thrown in a corner. "I just watched you fight with your sister" I straightened my hoodie and dusted myself off
"I'm not sure if I should stick around."
His smirk twisted in to panic and he grabbed my elbow, tugging me back slightly. I pulled away. "Hey" I snarled "don't touch me" I never let anyone touch me, and my clients weren't an exception. "This might not be your job" I turned around and was met with desperation
"But I don't know anyone else who'd stay in someone's house just for money." I wasn't sure if it was insult but he was right. "I'm not sure if you noticed but, you're growing on me."
What the fuck? Catching feelings? A deep sigh escaped my lips. He can't be serious. But his feelings were genuine. It showed in the reddish tint of his cheeks. "Hey" I said, forcing a kind look on to my face "you're great, but that was all my job. I'm not attracted to you" that's a lie. He's fucking hot, but I still don't want to date him. Ryu's face fell but he hardened with more determination "I won't try anything, being around you is enough for me" I felt his hand grip mine, I wondered how it would feel to be gripping money instead. The pay is good..
I looked him in the eye, and dropped my bag.
"Ok" I wasn't sure if I was going to regret this, but his way-too-happy expression made me feel like I would. And the death grip on my hand wasn't helping.
