Will POV

I was sitting on my uncomfortable metal chair, tapping my fingers on the table when the scary-eyepatch-guy came in with a determined look on his face. He flipped the other chair around and sat down, straddling the back of the chair and leaning on it.

"So, we don't know as much about you as we do the others. Care to fill me in?" he asked, seemingly attempting to not be very intimidating.

"Not particularly," I answered.

He face hardened and I saw his jaw tense up. "Alright then, I'll ask specifics," he said as he brought out a clipboard and clicked his pen.

It was pretty boring from then on. He asked, I answered (without giving anything substantial away, obviously).

"Name?"

"Will Solace."

"Sex? Male." He answered his own question for that one and I couldn't help myself.

I said, "Did you just assume my gender?"

He stopped writing and looked up. "Are you not male?" he asked, half skeptical-half scared that he had crossed the lines of the LGBTQ+ community.

"Nah, just messing with you," I laughed.

His face hardened again and he looked back at me with dull, unamused eyes. "Moving on, then."

It went back and forth like this for a while until he finally stood up and said, "Somebody else will be coming in shortly," before slamming the door shut behind him.

I didn't even get a chance to recover from my first interrogation because another guy immediately walked in with some lab equipment.

As he dragged in a rolling table with the equipment on it, he said, "Hello, I'm Dr. Banner. I'm gonna be doing a routine medical check up on you."

I stopped myself from laughing. "Okay, then. I think I would know if I wasn't healthy, though."

He shot up from his leaned over position over the table and stared at me before asking, "What do you mean by that?"

I felt my face pale as I realized that that was not the smartest thing to say. "I-well, ya know, I just have really good body awareness? Yeah."

Apparently I wasn't very convincing, because he gave me a skeptical look and said, "Uh huh," before turning back to his equipment.

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding in. A second later he turned to me, putting a stethoscope in his ears. He put it to the correct point on my chest and listened. I almost died laughing when his eyes widened.

"That is the fastest pulse I have ever heard, and I've taken the pulse of a norse god," he said, astonished. "Has your heart always been like that? Are you on steroids?"
