Thor POV
As I sat there, waiting for the others to finish, I thought about Valkyrie, Korg, and Loki back on the Asgardian ship. It was currently orbiting Earth; I had come down to see if Stark could help us find a new home for all of them. I was not expecting to be dragged into another S.H.I.E.L.D. assignment. Let alone one where I was going to be contiually eye-rolled at by a bunch of teenagers.
When Parker walked out of the last room, he took off his mask and turned to Stark.
"Please don't make me do that again, Mr. Stark," he said, sighing and slumping down in the nearest chair.
Fury left his place on the wall and walked to the center of the room. "Alright, let's go in order, shall we?"
He sighed. "From my observations, the kids certainly are...strange."
Tony scoffed, "Yeah, no kidding."
Fury sent a quick glare his way before continuing, "All nine of them made it very clear that they weren't going to volunteer any information, which isn't surprising. Most of them, save for Levesque and Zhang, seemed more annoyed than intimidated. Annabeth Chase was definitely the most composed of them; she obviously knew how to dodge questions without sounding like she was. Jackson spent the whole time answering with singular words and a permanent look of boredom on his face. The first one, Will, even had the nerve to tease me when I answered for him that he was male."
That last sentence was apparently very amusing to Parker, because he burst out laughing. "Did you just aSsUmE his gender?"
I laughed lightly and shook my head at him. After a few seconds, Parker looked up to see Director Fury glaring at him (it's his signature) and immediately shut up. "Sorry, sir," he mumbled with his head down.
"Well, I was done anyway," he said. "Dr. Banner." He nodded his head in the doctor's direction.
"Yes, well, they're all in perfect physical health," Banner explained, "though their pulses were...fast, to put it simply. Normal blood pressure, reflexes, light perception, hearing, the works. Where it got interesting was their psychological test."
"How so?" Natasha asked.
"Well, from their ink blott alone," he started, "it doesn't take a doctor to tell that their answers are serious indicators of some kind of instability. Will said it looked like blood on fabric, Jason said it looked like a ball of electricity, specifically, before it's about to reach its 'target'; I don't even know what to make of that. Frank also thought it looked like blood, but on soil, and Annabeth squirmed and said it looked like a hairy spider."
Tony spoke up, "Are you telling me that one of our teenage terrorists is afraid of spiders?"
Banner put his hands up in surrender. "Hey, answers to ink blott tests are as up for interpretation as the ink blotts themselves. But probably, yes."
Tony sighed and ran a hand down his face. "Well that's an interesting turn of events. Anything else of meaning?"
"I mean, they all said variations of the same thing for the photographs I showed them. For the picture of the family, every single one of them said, 'Camp.' Again, I don't know what to make of that. For the skull and crossbones, all of them said Nico, including Nico. That would seem to suggest that he is the dark one of the group-as if his clothing and attitude didn't show us that already. And finally, for the picture of the injured person, all of them said something along the lines of: 'Help them', 'Get help', 'Save them', etc."
