7 Months Before
I was clueless.
Completely utterly clueless.
When I awoke, I was in what people call a 'motel' in these days. I was lying in a bed, wearing the same as I was the day I... died. When i walked through the dark room, I entered a washroom unlike any i had seen before. There were no candles to light the room, and the floor was cold and smooth. I leaned against the wall and a wall of light ambushed be from the ceiling. There were things that weren't even possible, lights that glowed while without the aid of fire.
Then I stared into the reflection glass, and I saw... me. I wasn't totally sure that it was me at first. I mean, the best I could see, was the dull grey dress and the black hair. Then I pushed my hair away from my eyes.
I nearly punched the mirror. The horror of seeing your eyes flash a bright, yet deep purple is one of the creepiest things that can happen; other than waking up in a place you don't remember being, with technology that isnt supposed to be possible.
But when I say eyes, I mean eye only my left eye seemed to flash, my other eye was a dark shade of grey, almost an endless black void. I walked out of the washroom and I wondered what place I could possibly be in. Then I stopped in the middle of the room. I didn't remember anything. I couldn't recall a single thing from my past. But i did remember one thing. I was Sinnia Black.
I ripped off the grey dress and checked in the wooden dressers, and in the bottom drawer of the dresser across form the bed I woke in, was a pair of long peculiar looking trousers. They were long, and black;made out of a thick, sturdy material. They were rough to the touch. I slipped them on with a slight cringe.
There was also a top shirt made out of what seemed to be cotton. It was loose and much bigger than what i was used to, but at least i wasn't wearing that dress. It seemed to hold bad memories.
And one more thing that the drawer held was an overcoat with a metal clip that could be buttoned all together in only a few clicks of the clock.
Inside the bulging pockets of this odd overcoat was at least a thing that was slightly familiar. There was money, in a currency that i wasn't familiar with but it was more or less money. I knew I was not in good enough form, and not in appropriate clothes to go outside, but I knew I had to get out sooner or later. So I quickly got out of the room, which i was surprised wasnt locked.
I walked down the dimly lit hall, I reached a stairwell. I walked next to the railing with dignified posture, the way my mother taught me before she slit her throat. I suddenly stopped on the stairs, I wondered how i even remembered who my mother was, but it was gone.
I walked out of the odd home and I stepped outside.
A deep voice came from beside the transparent door. "Sinnia Black. How are you feeling?"
I swiveled to see the door and stared at a man with a deep tan, and bulging muscles. He smiled at me like I was an amusing toy. He was wearing something of the same manner as me, but he didn't have an overcoat.
He had deeply set features, dark mocha hair, cut extremely short to my point of view, and dark grey eyes. His skin, was flawless. His complexion was like the sea on a calm day, perfect but unsettling.
"I have been waiting a long time, and you of all people know its not ladylike to keep men waiting." He stared at me for a moment, his eyes flickering to the side of my face where the bangs of my hair i made sure covered my unusual eye. "You had the school very worried. You should come with me now, so i can escort you to your classes."
I was hesitant, and he saw me actually take a step toward the motel. "Sinnia, its me, Julius. Just come to the car and if you aren't feeling all well, we can just take you to the infirmary."
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. He stared at me and smiled a bit.
"Stop with your little games. Come on."
I wasn't going anywhere with a man I just met. "I... I'm not going with a stranger to a strange school, I'm sorry. "
Suddenly, I was picked up my my legs and slung over the shoulder of the man. He was muttering to himself.
He placed me into a black carriage, but for some reason it didn't have any horses attached. I thrashed and kicked. He wasn't fazed at all by my protest. He put some sort of restraint on me, and it clicked my side. I tried to break it, but the harder I thrashed, the tighter it got.
Then we started to move. I was miffed. Without horses there was no way that a carriage this big could move.
The man had sat next to me , while in front was a large pane of black glass.
He stared at me and sighed. "I knew that you would be like that. You know nothing of this world, and now you must live in it for and extended amount of time." I stared back at him. He reached into a pocket in his trousers and pulled out an eye patch, they were commonly used by nobles that had a defective eye or other. he handed it to me.
"Why would I need something like that?" I was scared and confused, and all I had was him to give me answers.
"First off just cover that eye of yours so i can look at you without feeling traumatized." I was completely surprised at the comment, and I took the patch placed it over my eye. I couldn't eve see through my hair with it on, so my vision mas lopsided; the feeling felt familiar somehow. "Good, now you will have to understand something that could seem completely crazy." I nodded slightly and he crossed his arms. "You are a vampire." I nodded.
Then i nodded again; slower this time. Again. Slower. I felt the tips of my canines with my tongue. I tasted blood.
It tasted amazing.
