Chapter 5

(Abigail's pov)

Kari decided to take me ice skating after we had dinner at Applebee's. "You sure about this? Im not a great skater," I told him just as I finished putting on my skates. "Positive ill help you," he said in his cute Finnish accent. I stared into his blue eyes and I trusted him I nodded and then wobbly stood up and with Kari's help making it to the ice. Kari skated on first and then grabbed my hands. I skated onto the ice Kari's warm hands holding tightly onto mine. I started skating and started to remember when my brother was younger and played hockey and I would just skate. I haven't skated in a while.

"You're doing well," Kari said as we ended out second lap and I only fell 4 times! "Thanks Kari," I said looking into his blue eyes and getting lost in them. Kari then did something unexpected he picked me up and started skating. I wrapped my legs around Kari's waist and my arms around his neck as he skated around fast. I was laughing and having fun. He then set me down on a bench and untied my skates. "I've had fun Kari," I said and put back on my shoes. "The nights not over yet! We are going to do one more thing," he said and then interlaced our fingers. I smiled and let Kari lead me out to his car. "I'm going to call Tyler and see how it's going," I told Kari as he started the car and drive to the mystery destination. "Alright," he said and then turned down the radio slightly. I pulled out my phone and dialed Tyler's number.

Me:Hey Tyler.

Tyler:Hey! Did Kari screw up already?

Me: No I was just checking to see how it was going.

Tyler: Great! Cat fell asleep about an hour after you left so Jamie and I are just eating your food and watching tv.

Me:Alright thanks Tyler!

Tyler:No problem! Go have fun.

I hung up the phone and Kari then spoke,"Everything still in order?" I glanced at Kari's dirty blondish hair that looked perfect. "Yup!" I exclaimed popping the P. "Good to hear!" Kari exclaimed. I chuckled and then the car came to a halt. "We're here," Kari said smiling.

I got out of the car and looked to see we were in a bowling alley. "We're going bowling?" I questioned. "Yeah, I hope you don't mind," Kari said scratching the back of his neck. "Lets go!" I exclaimed excited grabbing his hand pulling him towards the bowling alley. I loved bowling but, haven't been since Cat was born! I never had time. "Kari will you get me shoes? ill get the balls," I said smiling as we walked in. "Yeah sure. what size?" he asked. "A 6 please," I said smiling. I then walked over looking at all the colorful balls. I grabbed two balls and went to lane 12 as directed by Kari. I then went back and grabbed two more.

As we sat there taking turns bowling the scent of pizza danced in the air and let me just say it smelt amazing! Kari went up to bowl and I watched his perfect form we were already on our second game. "Kari I'm getting a slice of pizza want one?" I asked smiling. "Yeah sure," he replied smiling back just after the ball hit the pins getting him a strike. "Cheese or pepperoni?" I asked. "Cheese please," he said and getting ready to bowl again.

I walked over to the little concession stand area. "Can I get two slices of pizza and two bottles of water?" I asked the girl behind the counter who looked board out of her mind. "Sure what kind of pizza?" she asked smacking her gum. "one cheese and one pepperoni," I told her. she handed me the waters and pizza on two paper plates and then I balanced everything and walked back to where Kari sat waiting for me.

"I've bought food!" I exclaimed setting the food on the table they had. I then went and bowled my turn and then Kari and I sat beside each other eating pizza and drinking from water bottles. "Do you have any good music on your phone?" I asked the Finnish man after we finished eating. "Yeah I guess so," Kari replied looking at me curious. "Let me see!" I replied. He then handed me his phone and I put on some of his music. The bowling alley was completely empty so why not have fun. I turned on his music and turned it up and we finished our bowling game. "May I have this dance," Kari asked in a fake posh accent bowing at me. I chuckled and then replied,"Yes you may my good sir." Kari took my hand as we danced to Best Night Ever. Kari held me close as we slow danced in the middle of the bowling alley. To be completely honest this was the best night ever.

Kari sang quietly into my ear making me smile. The song came to an end but Kari and I didn't let go of each other. I liked being in Kari's arms I haven't felt like this since my husband died. I pulled away slightly looking up into Kari's beautiful blue eyes. "Kari this was the best night ever," I told him smiling. Kari smiled back eyes twinkling. Kari reached down and tucked my hair behind my ear. We were broken out of the moment we were currently having by the girl from the concession stand. "Excuse me but, y'all have to go its closing time," she said still smacking her gum. We broke away and nodded going and putting the bowling shoes on the counter and then walking out to Kari's car.

I walked up to my front door Kari in tow. "Thanks for tonight Kari. It was the best fun I've had in a while," I told him truthfully. "No problem I had a great time we should definitely do it again," he said smiling. "I agree," I said. "Goodnight Kari have a good night," I said smiling.

I walked in after watching Kari drive away after I waved. I walked in and saw Tyler sleeping on Jamie's shoulder and Jamie also asleep! How cute the bromance was real! I took a picture and sent it to Kari and then put it on my Instagram and twitter.i grabbed a blanket and covered them and then went and kissed my already sleeping daughters forehead and then I changed and went to bed thinking about my date with Kari.
