Eerie echoes infiltrate
Cold caliginous corridors
As fearful footsteps fall.
Left. Right.
Left. Right.
Passages persuading
Damp dank dreariness
Reeking of rot and regret.
This hollow hole in which I hike
Filled with fatal falsehoods.
No end in sight.
Broken bricks litter the loosened earth
Relying on rails to escort the entranced.
Left. Right.
Left Right.
Keep on moving.
Left. Right.
Push past the pain.
Left. Right.
Escape the emptiness.
Left. Right. Left. Right.
That darkness envelopes my being
Left. Right.
Wrapped in a sheet of selfish shame
A solitary scintillant substance
Hovering on the horizon;
Alighting an alien emotion.
Left. Right. Left. Right.
Brilliance breaks the barrier
Of dingy darkness.
Left. Right. Left. Right.
Approaching achievement
of ecstatic exodus.
The growing glare
Rekindling resilience
Left. Right. Left. Right.
Burning brightly
Expanding promptly
Left. Right. Left. Right.
Pounding pace parroted
Bouncing buoyantly off stone stockades
Left. Right. Left. Right.
Almost out.
Escape. Escape.
Almost free.
Escape. ESCAPE.
Bright light increases
Left. Right.
Hope and happiness heighten
Left. Right. Left.
Screeching and shrill sounds
Right. Left.
Whistle whining
Right.
Wind whispering
Left.
Red rushing the rails
Shivering steel stealthily sustains
The powerful pace
Stop.
Elucidation Enters and encompasses the soul
Petrified in peril
Fear flooding all senses
Adrenaline chasing the shot of terror
Run
Run
Escape
Run
MOveMovEMove
Break free
Get away.Get away.move.move.MOVE.
A psychopathic cyclone
Roaring rushing and racing
To devour and destroy
Deafening din dominating
The trembling trail
Left. Right. Left. Right. Left.
Pain.
Roaring pain
Searing sensations
Pooling blood
Numb.
Focus fading
Drifting off to days of old
Slipping into darkness
An eternal slumber
Of silence and sorrow
Squealing train tracks
As splattered cars retreat
A long clear cry sounds
As the train treks out of the darkness.
And away from the crime,
The desperation,
The darkness.
Leaving only
Silence.
