"My Minotaur"
My mind is a dangerous labyrinth
With the Minotaur running after my every thoughtThe thoughts that seem to be track stars
He rarely catches up to them
But when he does
There is no consolation for the mutilation that occurs
Their bloody forms reminding me
That I am nothing
Nothing
But a bug that can be squashedI don't remember the thoughts that were being destroyed when I saw you
When I saw you
Everything in my mind halted
The Minotaur ceased his murder
My thoughts stopped running
Everything felt clearI felt peace.
It was foreign and falteringYou
Who I had yet to know much of
Had beat my Minotaur
My monster
You quieted my demons
And brought serenity
And hopeI prayed you wouldn't leave
Inevitably you left
They always do
The thoughts raced once again
And we're taunted by memoriesMy peace had been broken
My monster angered
And the catastrophe continues
As the Minotaur plays tag
With his battle axeYou drift in and out
silencing the bombardment of broken cries
Saving me
Them wrecking me
With your sugar sweet liesWhat can I do
But hope they're true
What can I do
But pray for youThe one who stops my monster
The one who calms my storm
The one who defeats the Minotaur
But leaves with his horn
