Lucy looked inside and saw lots of gold coins. "Wow," she said, "I've never seen so much gold before. Won't it be heavy for me to carry?" All the fairies giggled and as they did so their fairy wings sparkled with excitement. "It won't be heavy at all," said Sally. They're not real gold coins but they do look like they are don't they? Inside each one is a lovely chocolate coin so were going to trick the leprechaun into giving us the fairy dust in exchange for the gold, he won't be too disappointed though as he will have a chocolate treat at the end of it!"
"Are you ready?" asked Sally. "As ready as I'll ever be," said Lucy. "Ok, put this wishing necklace on. It will grant you whatever you wish for. All you have to do is close your eyes and spin around at the same time as saying what you wish for." Lucy took the necklace and fastened it tightly. She closed her eye, started spinning and said "I wish I had fairy wings." No sooner had she got the words out that she felt something tingling on her back. She looked over her shoulder and saw the most beautiful, pink silk wings she had ever seen. Off she flew to the top of the rainbow. She watched and waited for the colors to change and when it turned purple she got herself ready to jump. "1, 2, 3 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," she shouted as she slid down the pink slide. She landed on something that was lumpy and much to her surprise, was wriggling! "Ouch, that hurt," said the leprechaun. She had landed right on top of him.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," said Lucy. "Why don't I give you something to make it up to you," and she handed him a gold coin. The leprechaun's eyes lit up.
He had never seen such a large gold coin before and he wondered how many more this creature had. "What are you doing here?" asked the leprechaun. "I'm trying to find some fairy dust to buy," said Lucy. "I've lots of gold coins to pay for it but I need to find some quickly before I turn back into a girl. Do you know where I can find any?" asked Lucy. "Well, I might have some but I need to make sure you have as much gold as you say you have," said the leprechaun. Lucy let him peek inside the bag of gold coins but she was careful that he couldn't snatch them awy as he had done with Eliza. The leprechaun's eyes nearly popped out his head when he saw inside the bag. "I've got the best fairy dust in the land," he said "No one has better fairy dust than me and I have it right here with me. I'll let you have it for those gold coins," said the leprechaun. Lucy pretended to think about it as she needed him to think that she wasn't so desperate. "Ok," she said.
