Ruben💕: nope. Going to the joint tomorrow at 5, want to go?
Val💐: i cant, i have to do some shit. Plus Hernandez asked me to go to eat.
Ruben💕: as in Carlos Hernandez? Hes bad news.
Val💐: im giving him a shot. Good night Ruby. See you tomorrow.
I turned off my phone and started to change into my pjs. I laid in bed listening to music. My door opened.
"Heading out." Wilfredo said.
"Spooky?"
"Yeah." He walked in my room and sat on the edge of bed. "Ill be careful."
"Okay." He kissed my forehead and left. I slowly went to bed.
In the morning
Thedoor bell rang and went to answer. It was Carlos. I quickly brushed my hair and put on some shoes.
"Hey!" I closed the door behind me.
"Ready?" I nodded. Carlos is a senior, who has been eyeing me for a awhile. I decided to give him a shot, so far, he aint bad. Its was about 5 and we were drove to the ice cream place. "Tell me, freshie?"
"Shut up." I gently pushed him. We laughed. We sat there and talked. Shortly after, we drove back home.
"Listen, I talked to the gang, we would like for you to sit with us at lunch." He had one hand on the stirring wheel and the other on the stick.
"Sure, but I promise my friends i would sit with them." I looked at my house and i froze. Spooky was out on the porch. "Stop!" Carlos pressed on the breaks.
"Que paso?!"
"Sorry, but you can drop me off here." I got my bag.
"Your house is literally right there."
"It's fine, i need the exercise." I chuckled. "Thanks for today." I kissed his cheek and got off the car. I quickly ran to the other side of the sidewalk. I couldn't let Spooky and not even Wilfredo see me with Carlos. Thats bad news. My eyes wondered to a bright pink dress on Rubys porch. "R-ruby?" He quickly turned.
"Valeria?" He covered himself.
"So youre the backup when i cant help your abueltia with the dresses?" I giggled.
"Laugh all you want Zapta."
"I like it." I evilly laughed all the way to my house.
Later that night:
My door kept banging and banging. I was just packing my shit into my backpack. I stomped my way to the door.
"Qué quieres!" I yelled.
"Its Monse, shes gonna confront Cesar." Jamal said. I grabbed my keys and ran out. Ruby, Jamal and i ran to Cesars.
"Hermanito, you better back up before you get smacked up." Oscar laughed at Cesar. Me Ruby and Jamal ran to get Monse off of Cesar.
"Shut up, puto." Monse yelled.
"Monse!" Jamal yelled as we got on the turf of los Diaz.
"Hey, watch it now." Oscar said.
"No! Monse." We held her back.
"This is why we didn't wanna tell you! - 'Cause you're going crazy!" I told her as she got out of our grip.
"Crazy? I'm crazy?" Monse yelled at us.
"Calm down. Breathe."
"Don't you patronize me! I don't need you. Any of you. I was trying to keep our crew together, but since I'm the only one who cares, you're all dead to me. I'll survive on my own." Monse teared up and walked away. I looked down. Jamal and Ruby left after that.
"Send your brother this." Spooky gave me a box. "To the Diabla!" I pushed him off of me.
"Look here, puto! Im not in this shit."
"Valeria just let it go." Cesar told me.
"Remember if you want out-"
"I get beat up, i got it." I walked away from them. There, my secret is out.
First day of school:
"Im gone." I yelled. Wilfredo came out. I finally put a good outfit on. A nice yellow crop top, black shorts and my air forces. I actually did my makeup and hair. Its a surprise that im getting bontia just for school.
"You gotta stop yelling, i can hear you." I shyly smile. "Let me see you." I gave him a twirl. "Air force ones, give it a nice touch."
"Yeah Whatever. Gotta go im late."
"Have fun!" I blast out the door. Me and Ruby met up.
"You look beautiful." He was starstruck. I blushed a little.
"You look handsome." I commented.
"Always do princesa." Okay, i was just getting red. He called me princesa. We headed our way. We met up with Monse and Jamal. As we walking, Monse stopped by Cesar's. We waited. I kinda gave up hope. "He's not coming with us."
"And why would you want him to?" Jamal said. "Monse? Monse!" We all said as she walked to the house. "See, bitches be bonkers." Jamal turned to us and walked behind Monse. We waited for awhile to see Cesar would show up, but he did. We walked. "I can't do this. I can't keep a secret. It's gonna make me implode. I don't know why anybody keeps secrets."
"There's something I need to tell you." Monse said. As she said that, gunshots were blasted.
"44!" We all said. The red car that Spooky owns pulled up.
"Cesar." Cesar looked at us and went with his brother. As the car was gone, we stared at it.
"What were you gonna say?"
"Cesar, we need to save him." Thats it, the crew is falling apart.
