We saw two piles of dirt. I just turned white. No. Ruby holds my hand, and I looked away. We heard whistling coming around us. "Oh shit. This is our grave. Hey hey. Everybody split up and get back." We froze. "Do you wanna die? Do what I say. Go!" I pulled out the gun, and stayed with Cesar. "I told you-"
"Dont start with me." We shot up in the sky.
"Come out here! Come out here now!" Cesar shot up again. "If this what you want, I'm right here."
"Come out pussies!" I moved around.
"Hijos de putas! If you and to kill me, im right here!" Cesar almost fell into the hole, i caught him. We looked down and saw Cuchillos, dead. We just froze. Shes dead. Like really. The others came back, looking down at her. We heard people coming from behind. We turn back and it was 19th street. Cesar steps up. He nods and we turned to see another one, dropping a lighter into the hole where Cuchillos was buried. Its real then. He smiles. We just walked away.
"Where the hell is Spooky and Willy?" We went to Monse's, grabbed something to eat. It seemed like we didn't want to near each other right now. We sat there, eating quietly.
"You gonna eat that?" Ruby slides his food to Cesar. Why are is he acting like we are good.
"No offense Jamal, buy I think the double double rivals the Joints charburger."
"Okay."
"Well, if its just okay, Then I'm gonna say its better than the Joints charburger." Monse said. "Should we talk about what happened?"
"Imma go home." I picked up my bag and left. No goodbyes nor hugs. I made my way back home. I had my head down, minding my own business. Once I got home, i saw someone sitting on the steps. It was Willy. I dropped my bag and ran to him. "Willy." I hugged him. He hugged me so tight. "I thought you were dead."
"She got me good but, I would never leave you alone." I saw Jacky and Luis come out. I smiled. Luis waddled up to me.
"Vein!" I picked him up. "Jacky-"
"We're fine. Everything is fine now." I kissed Luis and handed him back to Jacky.
"You know what sounds good right now?" Willy asked me, wrapping his arm around me. "A good ass sleep." I laughed.
"Looks like you need it." We headed inside. It was nice to be back. To have Willy alive. If I was gonna be honest, i dont know what I was gonna do if we were gonna kill Cuchillos. If Willy was actually dead. I went to my room, took a shower and changed. I was putting my stuff away in my drawers and hiding the gun in my dresser. I heard a knock on my window. My heart started fo pound and once I opened the blinds to see Ruby. I opened the window and let him in.
