In Heart We Stand With You

We've got this, we've got this,

oh, no we haven't!

We have the ball, yes,

we have it - wait we don't!

Screams of trepidation

shoot from both ends of Skype,

shouts of protests and praying

Two sisters wishing

they were not in front

of the TV, but in the field.

True, we can't play

but in heart we are

with you in the field.

Text messages fly like footballs

celebrating goals, cursing, moaning,

whimpering, praying and begging,

suggestions to the coach on doing his job

Hand shivering so hard

I can't even type

A bunch of best friends

wishing they were not in front

of TVs, but in the field.

Yes, we can't play.

But you're our team

and in heart we stand with you
