Far Away No More

She was my far away sister

the cousin who I rarely reminisced.

Once in a while, she fell into

my life and flew away in a trice,

like a bird who hurtled away

from a trap.

In the waka waka season of

soccer, she landed yet again

by accident, a twist of fate.

We nestled in front of the

home stadium, screaming and

cheering for our favourite team.

As balls took wings to the

goal, we became sisters

and best friends from heart.

Years have passed, yet

there's not a minute

that I do not reminisce her,

my far away sister, far away no more.

<This was a poem I wrote in the last FIFA season. I post it today after Germany's first win for my sister who watched the match with me through skype from the other side of the world!!!!!!!! You are awesome, dear sister!
