Alrighty, part four is here! Not exactly my best or most accurate work, but it was a fun experiment to do.

Just so you guys know, this is a song fic inspired by butterflyidentity's cover of "Lullaby for a Princess", which I will link here (the MAP using this cover, btw. Couldn't find the original cover sadly, :-;): https://youtu.be/MNL9G2oApP0

I highly recommend listening to this as you read, just to stir those emotions up good. I do not own the song, just the story. This was posted on August 25, at around 5 pm pst.

With all that aside, hope you enjoy!

The mansion stood strong in the dark of night, defiant against the moans of the Walkers shuffling outside its protective walls. It stood tall, rising above the treetops, stark against the night sky. It stayed that way as the moon turned across the sky, and shooting stars whizzed by, and as a ball of light descended into the yard, phasing through the front door. As it reached the other side, it's form lengthened and took shape, forming a transparent girl.

May all your dreams be...

She look around the hallway, noting the new accommodations, when she caught sight of the stairs. She floated upwards, eyes fixed on some point ahead.

Sweet... tonight...

When she reached the top, she glided down the hall, checking each room she passed. At one door, she saw a father and son on the bed together, the one-eyed male curled around his adopted son, both fast asleep. Both shared a small smile of contentment.

Safe upon your bed of...

The ghostly girl gave a small smile before turning away, catching the sound of a familiar snore in the room next door. As silent as a ghost can be, she glided towards it and phased through the door.

Moonlight...

When she saw who was there, she seemed to relax. She held her left arm, sympathy clawing her dead heart.

And know not of sadness...

Bryan and Blake were sharing the double bed together, facing each other in their sleep. While Blake looked like the picture perfect sleeping woman, Bryan was much less graceful, the picture complete with a small trail of drool hanging from his open mouth.

Pain... or care...

The ghost moved to sit on the edge of the bed next to Bryan, the lone streak of purple hair glistening in the moonlight. She laid her transparent hand on the slumbering man's head, though he never reacted.

And when I dream, I'll fly away...

She played with his brown hair, mind far away as she remembered the events that had led up to this, him living and her a scroom of the past. It was almost too painful to contemplate.

And meet... you... there...

"I don't regret joining her," the phantom whispered, a flame long cold rekindled for a moment. "I don't regret what happened. I only wish we could have stayed together. At least I have... them..."

She rose and turned, lowering herself to her knees as she planted a small kiss on his forehead.

Sleep...

"You were always so naive," she whispered regretfully, watching as her fingers began to fade.

Tears formed as the fading picked up speed, devouring her arms, then her torso. Finally, there was only her face left.

Sleep...

A single tear fell as she completely vanished, falling into the bed next to Bryan. He turned his head in his sleep, completely unaware of what had happened.

Sleep...

Outside, two orbs of light, one ginger and another blue, waited outside the mansion. Soon, a purple orb joined them, and together, they flew off into the night sky.

It took all of my willpower to not edit this to be more accurate, but I held back. I do want these to remain true to their original form, so if you do want edited versions of this, please let me know! You'd be doing me a favor!

Hope you guys enjoyed reading that, and see you next time!
