Jacob's POV: Miss Peregrine looked down concerned, "You think there could be one here on the island?" I asked as she looked at me, brows furrowed "Possibly, there's nothing certain without seeing." She answered, looking at the clock before standing up abruptly, "Excuse me, I must be somewhere else." She said before walking out quickly. "Psst, psst. Hey." I looked up to see Emma standing, hiding behind the door, "Ever wonder what Blanche's chore is?" I nodded, slowly, as she waved me forward and ran out toward the back of the courtyard, barred by the fence, "Hey." Emma greeted as I joined her on the fence peeking over the ivy that covered it. "Miss Peregrine." Blanche greeted as she stepped out of the shadows, my eyed widened as a faceless creature made its way onto the green grass.
Blanche's POV: "It's here." Miss Peregrine said as she readied her crossbow, seeing the shadow make its way onto the field, I nodded before exiting my body, my physical body being supported by Miss Peregrine before she laid my body down on the soft grass. I looked through the creature eyes, willing for the motion of the creature to cease, I stood as Miss Peregrine leveled her crossbow. "Miss Wilson, if you could." Miss Peregrine whispered as I left my body and entered the body of the shadow, halting it momentarily before it lumbered closer. Miss Peregrine leveled the crossbow before the arrow hit the creature square in forehead, forcing my soul out of the creature's body, momentarily floating before being sucked back into my own body. I slowly opened my eyes seeing Miss Peregrine's concerned face flood with relief, "Miss Wilson, can you hear me?" She asked quietly, I nodded as she helped me up to my feet letting my body lean against her's as we began our way back to the house.
