I think this was loosely based off of a scene from girls that I watched I while ago on YouTube.

"Do you wanna go for a jog soon?" Adam asked as you sat on the couch. He was fiddling around with something on the table.

You looked down at the book you picked out from the bookshelf. You took in a deep breath, "no thanks, I don't feel up to it."

He looked away from the thing he was doing and looked at you. "Why? Are you getting a cold?" He spun around on his chair. "Running is good for a cold, you have to sweat out the bad stuff." He stood up and slowly walked over to you. "I like to see you bounce too." He stood above you and dropped to his knee in between your legs on the ground. He gripped hold of your waist. "I like to watch you bounce." He bounced you up and down, kissing your stomach. "I like to watch your ass bounce, your boobs bounce and your ponytail bounce."

You rubbed his head, "I would love too Adam, but I want to rest." You half smiled at him and ran your fingers through his hair.

"Why? Are you really that sick." He moved his head side to side, pondering thoughts. Suddenly his eyes lit up. "Or are you pregnant?"

You smiled sadly. You wished you were. You had been with Adam for a while now and both wanted to have kids. But now, with what you found out at the doctor's appointment yesterday, you wouldn't be able to hold a child. "I'm sorry Adam, I'm not good for you anymore."

"Wh-What are you saying?" He uttered out in disbelief.

You sighed and looked away from his sad face. "I'm saying that I won't be able to give you a kid, ever. Something happened yesterday while I was out." You stayed facing the window, afraid of what he would say.

He furrowed his eyebrows. "What? Wh-what happened yesterday?" His tone was getting louder.

"I may have lied to you about going out with friends yesterday." You explained. "I went to a doctor's appointment because it was hurting down there."

"Down where?" He asked innocently, a slight smirk on his face as you looked at him with a 'really?' look.

He chuckled and you pushed him off you. You laid back on the couch and faced the back of it, away from Adam's now sad and slightly angry face.

"Why didn't you tell me so I could go with you?" He asked, softly rubbing up and down your arm.

You turned your head to look into his eyes, then you closed them and faced the couch again. Your cheeks went red. "I was embarrassed," you spoke quietly, almost a whisper.

"Are you fucking serious?" He laughed, his chest rumbling. "Don't be embarrassed, it's something that I would gladly help you with." He laid on the couch behind you and craddled you in his arms.

You sighed, "it's something serious Adam, a-and it scares me."

His head perked up and looked at you, watching your sad expression turn to a deeper sadness that he had never seen on you before. "Please tell me (Y/N)? Tell me what's wrong."

You wiped a tear from your eye and snuffled. "I-I might have cancer." You wiped tears away with the back of your shaking hand. "And I-I'm having an ultrasound tomorrow. It was the only time they could fit me because of how bad it might be."

Adam sat up and pulled you with him, looking into your (E/C) orbs. "And what kind of cancer is it?"

"Ovarian cancer." You took your bottom lip between your teeth. "And it's on both ovaries."

"Shit, fuck." He stood up and across from you. He looked down with a confused look. "So you won't be able to have kids?" He looked back up at you.

You nodded. You pressed your lips together. "Yep."

He moved around quickly and the magazine's on the table flew onto the floor, all the glasses also falling and landing on the ground with a crash. "Why couldn't you tell me this as soon as you felt it?!" His voice loud and demanding.

You shrunk down and played with the bottom hem on your marron satin pijamas. "I was scared Adam." Your normally sweet and cheerful voice broke under the pressure. "I'm so sorry."

He took in a deep breath of air and clenched his fists. "It's fine." He waved his hands in front of his face. "It's fine. W-we can always adopt." He suggested.

You wipped a tear from your face and looked down at the hem you fiddled with. "But it will never officially be yours."

"It doesn't matter. I just want to raise a kid with you."

"Is she going to be ok?" You heard Adam's deep voice from a distance. It was soft and quiet. Maybe in an attempt to not wake you.

"She will be fine." Another man's voice was heard. "But there can be no sexual activity or anything to with that area."

There was silence and then the echo of the door shutting. You felt a hand on your arm and it slowly moved down to your hand. And it took hold and kept it. "Please wake soon (Y/N)."

"I am, Adam." You cleared your throat. "I woke up a while ago but just didn't have the strength."

In one quick swoop you were in Adams arms on the hospital bed. "Thank fuck, I've been waiting a while."

You coughed and smiled softly. "Please be careful. It hurts."

"Sorry." He muttered and pressed his lips to your forehead. "I-I just couldn't wait to have you in my arms again."

"It's ok."

He rubbed your head. "I love you." He blurted out suddenly.

You smiled, despite how much pain you were in. "I love you too."

"And whatever child we choose to adopt."
