Everything's Changed • Adam S x Reader

This is based off of Adele's song, 'love in the dark'.

Fair warning, it's terribly written and I think its sad.

"Take your eyes off me so I can leave, I'm far too ashamed to do it with you watching me."

Adam looked right into your eyes as a tear fell from your soft (Y/E/C) orbs.

"Don't do this (Y/N), w-we can work this out." He said in a way to convince you.

You shook your head as he turned away and ran his fingers through his hair stressingly. "Adam, this is never ending, we've been here before," you sighed, shaking your head, "but I can't stay this time 'cause I don't love you anymore." You wiped a stray tear from your eye with your long sleeve shirt.

You did love him, with all your heart, he was the greatest thing in your life. But the arguing felt non-stop and he was either out with Hannah or out drinking at a bar.

But you hoped that maybe by lying, by telling him you didn't love him anymore would ease the pain, even slightly.

He started to approach and you held out your hands and sniffled, "please stay where you are, don't come any closer."

He kept walking towards you. "Would you just listen to me! Why won't you listen?!"

You rubbed your eyes. "Adam, don't try to change my mind, I'm being cruel to be kind."

Your voice was barely a whisper, "I can't love you in the dark, it feels like we're oceans apart."

He spread his arms out as he spoke, "then how the fuck do we fix this?! I need you in my life, if you want me to be with you twenty-four seven, then fucking fine!"

You shook your head, "it's done Adam, everything has changed me, everything you did," you paused to take in a shaky breath and wipe your eyes, "you have given me something I can't live without, so don't underestimate that when you're in doubt."

"Then for the love of fucking God stay! If I have something you need then just stay." He begged.

"But Adam I don't want to carry on like everythings fine! The longer we ignore you leaving to go to bars o-or to see Hannah, the more we'll fight."

You watched as a tear fell from Adam's chocolate brown eyes.

"Adam please don't fall apart, I can't face your breaking heart."

Another tear fell from Adam's brown orbs as his face started to turn into an angry expression. "Then why the fuck are you doing this to me?! Just. Stay!" He roared.

"I'm trying to be brave! Stop asking me to stay," you finally snapped, "I can't love you in the fucking dark Adam! I can't love you if you aren't here!"

"Then I'll stop going! Please give me another chance (Y/N)."

"Adam, I won't give you another chance, I can't. I gave you the opportunity to fix this but you didn't." You sniffled.

He was quiet for a little bit, looking away, trying to think about what to say next.

"Do you regret it?" He asked, his voice breaking.

You looked at him in shock, "I don't regret a thing with you Adam, every word I said to you I meant and I'm so glad that you were in my life, but I need more from a partner!"

He walked up, just about to grab your arm, to pull you into him and hold you tightly, but you turned around out the door, and before closing his door for him, you spoke softly, "everything's changed."

Good lord I apologise for not updating, just haven't had a good start to the year and everything feels like it's falling apart, I can't go anywhere without throwing up cuz of social anxiety and I keep fainting cuz of other health reasons which suck.

But im getting help for all of these things, but its taking time to heal.
