As soon as party got over, Rd went to his parents and gave his consent for the engagement.

‘Mom, I’m ready for this new relation, but I’m not sure whether Sanyukta will give her consent.I don’t want her to be my fiancée; I want her to be my wife. Please ask her once. I want to marry her before I report back to my post Please...please…please!’

Listening to her son's demand Renuka smiled & caressed his cheeks lovingly, ‘Son, She likes you.And she is equally desperate to be your wife and daughter-in-law of our house. We are planning your engagement in this coming week. Will this be fine?’

‘No mom, a week’s time is very long. I’m meeting her tomorrow. I want the engagement to take place day after tomorrow. And in a week’s time we can arrange for the marriage. Can’t we?’

Watching her son getting so much impatient to get married Renuka chuckled.
