Rd reported back to his post and was promoted to Acting Captain. Major Vardhan Suryavanshi briefed all the officers about latest infiltrations across the border.Capt. Randhir Singh Shekhawat along with his team of some 15 soldiers went towards the Mesar area of Samba district as patrolling team ALPHA while the rest of the battalion formed ambush team.
ALPHA witnessed massive intrusion under the influence of fierce firing from the border. Around 30-40 militants were trying to enter India and travelled some 300 meters inside the territory.Randhir closely monitored the militants and informed the base camp.He was ordered to stop intrusion into the valley, or else intruders could captivate the surrounding terrains.He chose to attack with all his force and the first part of assault was successful and 7 militants were gunned down. Soon second patrolling team OMEGA arrived and ALPHA was given rest.
Randhir came back to his base camp.He got a phone call just then.It was Sanyukta on the other side.
