We left the town and went back home. The car ride back was awkward and quiet.
"Wolf?" Raven finally spoke up.
Wolf looked in his direction for a second to acknowledge him.
"What do we do now?" He asked quietly.
"They are still out there, so we are going to keep hunting them along with other monsters and demons." He answered him.
"Wait, there are other things out there?" I asked.
"There are different types everywhere. Some can be tamed and others can be used. You think these are normal pistols? I only reload them for show." Wolf responded to me.
We got to our hideout and unloaded the car, well technically Raven and Wolf did, I just grabbed my things.
"Hey, what did you mean about using demons?" I asked Wolf when we put everything away.
"Some demons are forced into a physical form instead of having to possess a person or an object." Wolf handed me one of his pistols.
"These are actually demon pistols. The demons were twins, and in order to save their lives an ancient smith infused their souls into these pistols. I have had them for longer than I can remember, they have killed and feasted on the souls of countless monsters and demons. Soon we will find some for you and your brother."
"Okay, well are the consequences for using them?"
"If you aren't strong enough to resist them then yes, they can take over your body and you fuse into them. You become a weapon, a mindless and powerful weapon. Many hunters have fallen to their weapons."
I looked at Wolf then at the pistols that he had then back at him. His scarred face and coarse beard accompanied by his strong arms and...sorry.Raven and Wolf sparred as usual and I watched while drawing the clowns in my notebook again. I've been drawing them a lot lately and I never knew why. After I finished them I tore the page out and incinerated it in my palms. I don't remember what came over me while I was watching my brother and Wolf, but I started to draw something, it was a blade, a katana with a Dragon swirled around the sheathe. When I finished the picture Wolf was standing over me.
"Its calling to you, but I never knew this one would be the one that called to you." Wolf said in a grim voice.
"What?"
"The Dragons Edge...a sword capable of killing almost anything in creation. Many Hunters have tried to attain the blade but everyone had been corrupted and killed by it. This blade is unlike any other, it doesn't fuse with those who aren't compatible with it, it takes the soul of those who cannot bond to it." Wolf crouched in front of me.
I looked at the picture then up into Wolf's eyes.
"Where do I find it?" I asked.
"It will come to you, at first like this, in drawings and dreams, then it will manifest itself near you."
Raven snuck up behind Wolf and tried to pin him down but Wolf grabbed his arm and put him on his back in a swift movement. The two went back at it and I sat there staring at the sword in my notebook. I had only talked to Wolf about this a little less than a month ago and now I have the chance to be strong like them. After Raven surrendered Wolf went into the kitchen to make food for us. A man that can cook, what can't he do?Our days blended together into training and studying. We learned about different types of monsters and demons and even learned more about different types of traps and artifacts that we can use to imprison the clowns. So far the only thing that we thought might work was the same type of stone that Wolf had used before, the only problem was that we haven't found one, and the one that I had found is gone. Wolf even went back to the house with Raven to search the ashes and rubble for it with no luck.
"Ugh..." Raven groaned and hit his head softly into his book.
"Come on brother, keep searching." I said patting his head.
"Cas, you don't understand, I don't do this kind of stuff, I'd rather be fighting with Wolf or trying to practice my marksmanship."
I chuckled and kept reading until I felt something strange, I felt cold and drawn towards the training room. I stood and started to walk towards it. When I entered the room I saw it, The Dragons Edge. It was sitting in the middle of the room just waiting for me.
"Go."
"AHH! Dammit Wolf!"
He laughed and I shook my head.
The sword started to rise into the air and rotate slowly. Hesitantly I started to walk towards it. Slowly my right hand extended and grasped the hilt of the blade. Black flames engulfed me and the entire room was swept up in a massive torrent of wind that shook everything around and pulled books from the shelves and spun them around me, Raven and Wolf were holding onto the walls and watching in horror as the black flames raged around me. I could hear the blade talking to me, but I couldn't understand it. I could tell it was getting aggravated and angry that I couldn't understand it and the flames started to rage harder. I closed my eyes and exhaled slowly.
"I grow tired of this."
"What?"
"What, you can hear me?"
"Y-yes, yes I can."
"I cannot believe it, finally someone who can hear my calls, tell me your name young one."
"Cassandra, what is yours?"
"Anarion."
"Well Anarion, will you allow me to wield you, so I can keep them safe?"
The black flames subsided and I stood their holding the sword in my hand. I drew the blade from the sheathe to reveal the black metal that glowed slightly. Wolf and my brother ran to me and grabbed me by the shoulders.
"Cas are you okay?" Wolf asked looking at me.
"His name is Anarion, The Dragons Edge finally has a partner." I said smiling and looking at the blade, a mans face was reflected in the blade when I looked at it again. I knew that must have been Anarion's face, I had so many questions to ask him like how did he become this sword, how many other blades are there, why me, and could we, together, destroy those fucking clowns.
