I smile at myself in the mirror, feeling confident in my suit and tie choice. It's taken me almost an hour to get ready and my anxiety had just kept building up. As I turn off my music, I slide my hand through my hair pushing it back a bit and letting the gel I had put in do its job.I had tried to text Hannah and figure out her plans for the night, hoping it'd match up with mine but the tone of her messages really threw me off my investigation and I couldn't help feeling a bit down about it.
"Hannah? I just finished up at work. Hope you had a good day yourself darling!"
MoTulip864 is typing...
"Hey there tiny one! I had an okay day, how was yours? I missed you!"
"It was good, everything went well and I'm heading out soon for a night out. :)"
"Oh cool! I was hoping we could chat tonight but I know your a busy man my love. If you need me I'll be binge watching Netflix lol"
Wait, so she's not going out at all tonight? If it was her, wouldn't she at least say she had work? Or a party? I fiddle with my thumbs above my phone as I think of a reply. If I was meeting Hannah she certainly wouldn't have time to chat tonight, unless my date was on her phone the entire dinner and that didn't seem like her at all. I was so sure about this and now I may be going to dinner with an absolute stranger.
"Oh awesome, well have a good night! Catch up on some rest. I'll text you as soon as I can. Bye bye."
I reread the messages and sighed, slipping my phone into my jacket pocket. I quietly crept into my bedroom, slowly and carefully looking for my missing shoe. Bentley was still laid across my bed when I had gotten home and as much as it concered me, I could tell someone had rummaged through my kitchen cabinets so I'm hoping he at least ate something. I turned to look at the broken hearted man in my bed, I couldn't tell if he was sleeping or just frozen in the numbess he was feeling. I didn't want to push him, I knew how it felt and I knew he needed a good day to just lay in bed, even if the bed is mine.
"Ah there you are." I whisper to myself as I quickly slip on my other dress shoe. I headed to my nightstand to write the lad another note before I left. Just as my pen hit the paper I heard a loud whimper. "Bent? Are you up buddy?" A crying Bentley pops out from under the blankets and reaches up at me. I had never been so confused in my entire life.
"Wha-what is it Bent?" I stumbled on my words, my head screaming the words grabby hands in my mind. I knew what he wanted but I wasn't sure why or how it was happening. "Up.." he whispered, leaning over to me while I slowly and barely lifted him and put him on my lap as I took a seat on the bed. "Bent, are you..okay?" Bentley immediately hid his face in my neck, whimpering and holding on to me like his life depended on my warmth. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Is he regressed right now? I didn't know a thing about other smalls, I sure as hell wasn't a carer and the only small I've ever been around was well, myself. I tried to think of how I felt when I was regressing, what I would want and applied it to Bentley.
After a few minutes of shushing him and rubbing his back, I looked down at my watch and it was way past my departure time. "Hey buddy I have to go okay? I'll be right back." Has anyone heard a grown man wail in their ears? I have. I instantly patted his back and bounced him on my leg. "Bentley shh I will be right back and here to hold you in an hour or so, what is with all the tears, I'm coming back you know, it's all alright." I sighed in relief as soft sniffles and hiccups escaped my best friend.
"Da-Logan come back soon?" I gulp at the mistake but shake it off as I nodd, untangling the boy around me. "Bentley, how old are you right now?" I had heard other carers ask that and I thought it was precious, such a simple way to know a big thing on how your small is feeling. I think it really fit the situation and I was more than thankful for the idea. I smiled softly at the man holding up two fingers. "Wow you're a really small boy huh? How about we go play?" I grabbed Bentleys hand and led him to my secret closet, pulling out all the toys.
I've never dialed so many numbers so fast in my entire life. My date started in fifteen minutes and I knew way better than to leave someone regressed alone. I knew this was involuntarily, I knew how much he needed this. It was babysitter time and finding one for a grown man wasn't going to be easy. I finally decided on calling my co worker, Bentley could hate me for it later. I dialed Luanne's number and tapped my foot impatiently as it rang. "Come on come- Luanne? Hey uh it's Logan, yes yeah I know I'm suppose to be on my date but something came up and I need you here right away, really? Thank you!"

"I'm not understanding this Logan, I've heard of regression in my psychology classes but I never thought I'd see the day where big tough Bent is rolling around your floor playing with cars." I smile down, adoring the sight in front of me. "I know but I really need your help, please? Please!" I fake a pout and Luanne rolls her eyes, obviously giving in. "Fine! Just hurry back and you better not mess this up!" I grab my jacket and slip out the door before Bentley notices, smiling to myself as I get in my car.
"Okay okay, you can do this, you have a solid ten minutes to get there." I turn the corner sharply and try to shake off today's earlier events. I continually pep talk myself as I drive, pulling up to the restaurant at exactly seven. "On the dot, here we go."
I scan the restaurant for the mystery woman, a bit disappointed but also a bit relieved when I see she hasn't arrived yet. "How many?" The waitress asks me with a hostess smile. "Two please." The woman motions me and places me at a table by the window. I couldn't have been luckier to get this table. The view of the city stars were bright and on full display, I was so excited for this.
"Logan?" I jump up at my name, my face heating up and my palms start to sweat as I see her. Ms. Marone wore a red dress with a matching tint of red lipstick, her nails weren't too long or too short but red as well. I could just sense the independence of her and it made my stomach flutter.
"Aren't we looking extra handsome tonight?" I blush, pushing her chair in once she sits. "And you my dear Ms. Marone look..stunning." The beautiful sight in front of me giggles, extending a hand, "Please I know your first name you can know mine, call me Melissa." I barely take a grip of her hand as all the color from my face disappears.
Hey guys! Sorry for the late update I'll try to update again in a few days. Hope you enjoy! Don't forget to vote!
