"Logan? I hope you're alright..please answer me as soon as you can. I'll try again after work. Good luck today!"

I gulp as I lock my phone and slide it back in my pocket. I called her mommy. I can't believe I did that. I mean it felt so right but..what if she didn't feel the same?

"You alright man?" I look over towards Bentley as he stops at a red light. "Oh uh yeah just personal stuff." Bentley nodds as the light turns green again, turning the corner and pulling in front of the elementary school.

"You know we're more than just co workers, we've been friends since we went here ourselves, how about we grab some drinks later and we can talk things out?" I smile and shrug, staring up at the old building in front of me. "Sounds good man, thanks." I take one last deep breath before walking in and shaking off last nights texts.

"Thank you so much for volunteering your time gentlemen, the kids really love learning all about what you do." I smile and follow the school principal down the hall, smelling the hallways scent of crayons and paint as I look around at all the artwork hanging on the walls. Everything had looked the same and it gave me a sense of comfort, calming my present nerves. "Looks like this place hasn't changed a bit huh?" Bentley elbows me smiling, I nodd as we head into the kindergarten class room.

"Good morning boys and girls! Today we have a special surprise, who's ready to meet our special guests?" I can hear all the children cheer behind the door. The excitement in their voices remind me of when I was their age on this day, the same presentation I saw as a kid, the moment I saw their unifnorms and said "Wow I wanna do that!" I promised myself I would become just like the men in the awesome trucks and save everyone in the world.

I snap out of my flashback as the door swings open and what I see makes my jaw drop. "Please welcome Mr. Logan and Mr. Bentley!" As the principal leaves us to it, my eyes stick to the gorgeous blonde behind the desk, smiling up at us to begin. I push myself to speak but nothing comes out. I clear my throat and try again, diverting my eyes back onto all the kids sitting silently on the carpet.

"Hey guys! I'm Mr. Logan and this is Mr. Bentley, were first responders does anyone know what that means?" A wide blue eyed boy in the front jumps up and raises his hand. I point to him and he smiles big. "It means you're the first guys to come and save people!" I lean over and high five him, making him laugh and sit back proudly. "That's right guys, were the first ones that come when someone needs help, were trained in both medicine and fire safety." A girl in the back exclaims how gross medicine is, making us and her teacher laugh.

Bentley takes on explaining the medical aspect of our jobs while I turn my attention back to the smiling blonde. The cutesy giggle I had heard made my stomach tingle abd I couldn't help but keep taking glances her way. I had suddenly felt guilty, I had been chatting with some amazing girl for weeks and now I'm drooling over another one right in front of me. My chest kept twisting and I wasn't exactly sure what to do. I felt a sort of pull towards this new stranger and I wasn't sure if I should pull back. What if I'd never meet Hannah? What if she didn't feel the same way I had? I could be passing up an opportunity for someone I hadn't even made plans to meet with, but then again I had fallen for her, so why was the woman in front of me taking on such a toll?

"Isn't that right Mr. Logan?" I bite my lip as a trickle of sweat beams on my head. I nodd my head hoping yes was the correct answer as Bentley nudges me. "Sorry." I whisper as he continues on about fire safety. I wasn't big in public speaking so for the most part Bentley handled it. I was much better at showing things and creating visual learning.

"Alright every one it's time to see the truck so please line up by the door!" I hang back as Bentley leads the children down the hall. The teacher I couldn't keep my eyes off of walked behind her students and in front of me, making my whole 'Just don't look' thing nearly impossible.

As we reached the front doors, Bentley had already lined every one in front of out truck leaving Ms. Blonde to hold open the door. I smile as I take the door from her, thanking her softly as our hands touched. I pulled back before my hand could linger and that's when I saw it. The tulip tattoo right on her wrist.

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a good weekend and has a good week ahead. Enjoy! Don't forget to vote!
